“Does not disappoint”
Reviewed September 1, 2012

LurCat is the perfect blend of amazing food and wonderful service. This trip our children had their first visit and I was concerned but I shouldn't have been. Our server, John, was attentive to both the adults and kids. He even brought an extra order of fries when it looked like sharing wasn't going to happen. Our meals were tasty - fresh, interesting and yummy. The salmon was cooked just right and the chicken was a spicy, moist plate. The children's food was great too - delicious homemade pasta and chicken tenders that could compete with any adult platter.

“Harmonious Location, Service and Cuisine”
Reviewed August 21, 2012

Out of the eleven restaurants we visited during our most recent trip to Naples, Café Lurcat was our favorite. We took advantage of their “Sunday Date Night” promotion which included three courses and a glass of wine for $50.00 per couple. Dining on the patio provided an entertaining view of 5th Avenue. Our server, Jack, was very personable and paced the meal perfectly. The cheese, apple and chive salad was a delightful mix of flavors (a perfect crisp, cool choice on a warm evening). The flat iron steak was perfectly cooked medium rare as requested. Normally I pass on dessert, but words cannot describe the warm deliciousness of the cinnamon sugar donuts served at the end of the meal. We will definitely return.

“One of the best in Naples”
Reviewed August 15, 2012

Great 5th Avenue location, beautiful modern decor, top notch service and of course absolutely superb cuisine. For appetizers we had the crab cakes which were, as expected, crammed full of crab meat. For entrees we had the ginger rice with shrimp which was very good; and the pasta with lobster, shrimp and tomato, which was superb with perfect al dente pasta and masses of succulent lobster claw. The wine list was extensive; and to crown the evening all wines listed at $100 or less were provided at half price. Wow.....not, I suspect, a special offer that will continue for long. All in all a perfect evening at a reasonable price.

“Top Shelf Meatloaf with Good Wine at Great Prices”
Reviewed July 31, 2012

We dined at Lurcat on a beautiful late afternoon in May. We arrived just in time for the Early Dining Special which is three courses for $22. We were seated at a lovely table by the windows. The windows open to the outdoor seating area, so it was like dining outside, except without the street noise.

We also took advantage of their wine special, which was 50% off any wine under $100. They had a wine we've wanted to try, but rarely see in our local shops, so we tried it for a great price, and really enjoyed it.

First course was salad. We saw other diners with the Apple, Cheese, and Chive salad and it looked very crisp and refreshing. My husband ordered it, and he devoured it. I didn't even get a bite. I had the House Salad with Heirloom Tomatoes. It was very nice, great dressing, and the tomatoes were very tasty.

For entrees, we both ordered the meatloaf which sounded too good to resist, and it was! Calling it meatloaf is almost inappropriate. The meat was juicy and delicious. The tomato-onion jam was super, and the sauteed vegetable medley was outstanding. Often, a sauteed vegetable side dish is put on the plate as an afterthought with no care towards the preparation. It's usually inedible. Not at Lurcat! It was cooked and seasoned perfectly, very edible to say the least. We sent our plates back to the kitchen very, very clean.

For dessert, we had the warm, cinnamon sugar doughnuts. I believe they were the only choice for the Early Dining Special. They were tasty and warm, but would not have been my first choice.

Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and the wine. She also provided some great recommendations for dining in the Naples area. Her service was very good, even though she appeared to have more customers than she could handle. Several times, we waited a lengthy time, but overall she did a very good job.

We had a wonderful experience at Lurcat, and it is one of the first places I will want to revisit next time we're in Naples!

“Wonderful Sea Bass”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

The sea bass was out of this world. We were disappointed in the veg side dishes of squash and another side dish of green beans for $9.50 each (really $9.50 each). The cinnamon donuts are to die for and they have very good coffee. Great bar to have a cocktail downstairs before or after dinner. The bartender is a very nice friendly young man and everyone we met working there was very friendly.

There was a certain odor downstairs. Upstairs seating was fine and we did not notice anything upstairs. We noticed that walking outside on 5th Ave there was a strange smell coming from the garbage cans we think. This could of been the problem in the restaurant because I believe they had the door open. It was a very hot and humid night.
