We've been going to Spankys for years, they are noted for their Prime Rib, in a kitschy/collectibles atmosphere.
Tonight we had the toughest flavorless, piece of Prime Rib ever. The salad bar is not as extensive and now is an additional price from the entree.
We also had the shrimp scampi which had mushrooms???, the wine was not reduced enough, & the shrimp were "fishy" tasting.
There are now model airplanes hanging from every crack in the ceiling and the decor is starting to be "junky" packing every surface.
Sad to say I believe after 20 years we've eaten there for the last time.

What a lovely interesting place. Had a great meal here with the biggest glasses of soft drinks I have ever seen! Shame the wine glasses weren't as large. Our waitress was really friendly, the salad bar was excellent I am only short but could reach everything (referring to earlier review). The soup was delicious, lots of interesting memorabilia to look at, a great night.

This is a place we usually go to when we have family in town because there's something on the menu for everyone, you can dress very casually, it's reasonably priced and the food is very good. A couple of relatives say the buffalo chicken fingers are fantastic- juicy on the inside with a coating that stays crispy in spite of the buffalo sauce. It's a huge portion that could be a meal in itself. The prime rib is very good although inconsistent in quality, sometimes perfect, sometimes fatty- but I guess that's the nature of the meat. The chicken parmigiana, chicken marsala and the lobster tail are good choices also. I'm a grouper fanatic and when they have it (usually only in high season) it's excellent. You can order it fried or broiled and either way it's always perfectly cooked. I don't like salad bars but it's very big and the salad eaters in my family love it. One of the best things they make isn't on the menu - it's a whole potato cut in quarters lengthwise and deep fried. It's crispy brown on the outside and hot and tender inside. I know, it doesn't sound very special but it's delicious- ask for the potato wedges and describe what you want, they'll make it and substitute it for another side dish.
Overall it's a good, solid place to eat it you don't want anything fancy and want to eat in an independent restaurant with consistently good food. The negatives would be that there's no atmosphere, the service can be spotty especially if they're very busy (they seem to have a lot of turnover in wait staff), and if you sit near the bar it can be pretty noisy.

This is the best salad bar in the area! The prime rib is always excellent. I would put it above many of the high priced venues. Friendly staff, good drinks!

Our Tuesday night get-to-gether with friends was very enjoyable. We had a table on the porch which was next to the water. Our drink and food orders were taken quickly. The soup and salad bar was average except for the step up to get to it. The soup was especially good! While our table and chairs were about what was expected, we noticed a table inside that had four barber chairs around it. The soup and salad bar cost was $11.
