“Small, elegant bistro”
Reviewed September 6, 2012

We had heard of but not visited until last evening. What a wonderful surprise! I was even reluctant to tell the truth here for fear the bistro will be booked every nite to capacity. But...

Just what I expect from a good restaurant, a limited menu. So they can assure excellence in all they prepare. And here they do it! Excellence in every item.

Before talking about the food..the service. So attentive WITHOUT being intrusive. Friendly and efficient. Knowing that when pouring white wine you do not fill the glass so the the wine can get warm, just 2-3 inches is sufficient and be there when it needs refilling without interrupting the conversation or eating. That is exactly what was done.

The food. The pomme frites with hint of black truffle was shared by the three of us as we ate our salads. These frites were to write home about. Crispy, hot and so tasty. Our salads were were scrumptious. Two of us had the tomatoe, romaine and bacon with Bleu cheese. Another the apple, arugula. Three very happy folks waiting for the next course.

Every appetizer sounded so good we passed up entres and went for: fried oysters, lobster roll, and crab cakes. Each was a treat. The oysters were cooked to perfection, meaning the outside was crispy and the oyster within was melt in your mouth literally! Crab cakes a wonder and the lobster roll sliders were as good as or better than ones from Maine. The lobster was flavored but not overdone so the taste of lobster was there enhanced by the herbs and other ingredients.

Dessert, only one of had the courage to eat more, that was me the only guy there. The blueberry cobbler was to die for. Too many times the fruit is over sweetened here perfect. And the cover not traditional looking cobble but fabulous and topped with vanilla ice cream. All of us delved in and were in dessert heaven.

The wine list is short, but our choices made us happy.

When I listed the cost per person below that was ours perhaps you don't drink or eat as much as we did. Then it wouldn't be as high. An appetizer and entre could run hi 20's to mid 30's without wine.

Overall a wonderful experience, we can't wait to go back.

“Pricey and not special”
Reviewed May 29, 2012

Too many tables in this store front restaurant. The owner and chef spends more time mingling with the diners then in the kitchen and it is obvious by the mediocre quality of the food.

“Another Hidden Naples Gem”
Reviewed May 29, 2012

Throughout Naples there appears to be these special places hidden in strip malls that we stumble across and are so happy to find. In this case I had heard repeatedly of this place from people I work with. I had the pleasure of taking my wonderful wife to dine after wanting to try the food for some time. We weren't disappointed. Salad of Watermelon and feta was refreshing and well balanced. The figs stuffed with Gorgonzola were also very well balanced blending mild sweet with savory. Actually now that I think of it the whole meal was extremely well balanced. All of the ingredients used for each dish (usually 3 to 5 main ingredients) was perfectly matched to its counterpart. The scallop entree was a melange of ingredients that played wonderfully together--well thought out and perfectly executed. The only thing that I believe lacked was our dessert selection--which was my fault...I mean the description from our server was spot on, I just ordered the wrong thing. It was the Chocolate--which is a piece of hard dark chocolate. I should have opted for something else. The Chef/Owner took the time to come and ask us how everything was which to me is a special thing. It distinguishes a place and sets it apart. A true dining experience...We will be returning.

“An interesting find”
Reviewed May 18, 2012

We happened upon this restaurant by chance whilst staying at The Inn at Pelican Bay, and what a find.
We had one of the last tables; obviously others already knew how good it was. An interesting, but not large menu, based on the Chef’s takes of American regional dishes, attentive staff, sensible portions and a fair price for the quality.
The Chef was happy to come out and chat to his customers always a nice touch.
We were ready to return but unfortunately they close on Sunday, which was our last night

“Exxcellent food,, rather pricey”
Reviewed February 29, 2012

The food and menu selection is outstanding. The portion sizes are small and everything is rather expensive. The restaurant is small so do make reservations. It is worth the visit.
