Award winning cuisine is available 7 days a week.

We have had lunch and dinner here. Capers took the space formerly occupied by Sam Sneads on the corner of a strip mall. It looks the same inside except all the golf stuff is off the walls. The servers are very friendly. At lunch we had Reuben and salad, both very good. For dinner (good early bird deal for two), we had salmon and chicken. My only complaints were that the rice scoop was a little dry and there was no sauce provided for the salmon. The chardonnay was pleasant and the strawberry shortcake was delish. Will be back.

I had written an earlier review regarding Capers and had given it a glowing review. We have visited 3-4 times since & the quality has slipped each time, in fairness, our visits have mostly been on Sunday for brunch. Each time we have had to wait 30-40 minutes for our meals to arrive with only 2 people in our party. The last time we went 2 weeks ago we said that's it. We waited over an hour which was our mistake for the food to arrive. If we heard the excuse "sorry, the kitchen just got slammed" once, we heard it 10 times. Now we are fairly reasonable people & are willing to wait for great food, but consistently that seems to be the excuse. As an owner I would think that if that is happening week after week, I would consider adding a cook or 2 for the "slam times". What made it really bad was this particular visit was we had guests with us and one of the guests had asked to go back because he had enjoyed his meal there with us earlier in the year. Do I need to tell you how badly he felt? In this review I am changing my former song of praises to a song of warning enter at your own risk and plan to spend lots of time there with a stressed out owner/manager running around like a chicken with his head cut off saying "it will only be a few more minutes folks, sorry," and, the food quality has slipped to greasy and burnt, not my idea of a great dining experience!

Capers K, Owner at Capers Kitchen and Bar - out of business!, responded to this reviewResponded April 29, 2013

Thank you for your feedback on your experience and for your previous positive review. We are always looking for ways to improve our service and your feedback is valuable. We truly strive to provide an enjoyable experience for all of our customers, but it's clear we didn't provide that this time.

Not to provide an excuse, but merely a partial explanation, we do cook everything to order and many of our baked goods and other dishes are homemade. As you can imagine, on busy Sundays, this can result in some delay in food delivery.

That said, we appreciate your feedback and will learn from it. We hope you will change your mind about returning to Capers and provide us with another opportunity to change your mind again.

We have now eaten at Capers 4 times (coupons made meals very reasonable). The food is very well prepared and service is excellent, but breakfast choices, especially, are laden with fat, which undoubtedly makes the eggs and Capers specialty fries taste extra good, but if you are watching your weight or have CAD or other health concerns, it's best to order the oatmeal. Many of the many other breakfast items are undoubtedly yummy, but excessively calorie-rich. The bowl of fruit was a disappointment--only the 4 berries on top were ripe and sweet, the cut melon pieces came from unripe melons, certainly edible, but hard and tasteless. Unfortunately there is no Greek yogurt parfait--just the boring oatmeal. The coffee is excellent and one's cup frequently refilled. Lunches provide better selections for finding both delicious as well as lower fat dishes. The supper menu looks very good and will try it soon. The restaurant is attractive and the waitstaff are very efficient and friendly. The music is great and the volume kept at a comfortable level. You can actually engage in a conversation and hear each other!

Had breakfast/ lunch here and all the selections were wonderful. Not gourmet, but well prepared, good food. As a vegetarian, there were many items I could chose and the meat eaters had a difficult time making their choices. Well go back when in he area.

We very much enjoyed our dinner at this casual spot hidden in a shopping mall. We found the meatloaf and snapper to be excellent and were impressed by the friendly service provided by "Bob". This is a place for a good meal at a reasonable price.
