We went to see Wynton Marsarlis and the Lincoln Centre Jazz orchestra. The building is superb and the auditorium really well set up with good views from all seats. Whilst the quality of Wynton and the band is undisputed we were rather disappointed with the programme of music on the night as it was all Christmas related and not the kind of jazz we were hoping for . Jazzing up centuries old carols does not work for us !
But our abiding memory of the night will be of the audience. As the last number finished the house lights came a bit and people stood to commence what we thought was a standing ovation which would lead to an expected encore but which immediately turned into a rush for the exits ! As we were on the end of a row we were kind of forced into going with the flow though, in retrospect, I wish we hadn't. I could not believe how rude it was and could not understand why ? Do they do this for all performers ?

We loved the exhibit of dresses and gowns made of paper. Wonderful designs and each one is a hand painted work of art. There are several rooms with interesting paintings, but I found the best feature of the museum to be the Dale Chihuly ceiling ...magnificent. All the floors are accessible by stairs or elevator.

I really enjoyed this museum. It mostly just has travelling exhibits. The only permanent works were a Marc Chagall and a couple Chihuly works. But the exhibits were very cool. The paper dresses are amazing. The only thing I did'nt like was you could'nt take a picture of anything, not even in the theater. Still a great museum.

You'll never get tired of this art museum. Just the right size, frequent tours and well laid out. The Philharmonic (The Phil) has everything you need: theater, music, dance, chorus and more...

Artis-Naples is a wonderful venue for all kinds of performances from orchestra to rock to theater. Every seat is a good one and the facility is of top quality. Parking is easy within a short walk and here is also an excellent museum which is too frequently overlooked.
