On the left side is the Waldorf Astoria seating area, with their chaise lounges, umbrellas and fancy towels. And to the left is the family (non hotel) crowd that parked their cars in the public lot ($8.00 parking fee!) and hefted their coolers and folding chairs. That said, there's no reason one cannot use the left side, just plunk yourself down among the tony hotel guests! Beach and water are clean and enjoyable - only drawback is the is shuttle service from the parking lot, while it is free, sometime it takes a little while to board. Walking is always an option but takes 20-30 minutes. The Waldorf operates a snack bar, but the prices are quite high, like $8 for French fries.

We took the free nature walk at Clam Pass. While we were there, they were offered Monday through Saturday at 9:00 a.m. and took a leisurely hour and a half (we walked back). Our guide was very knowledgeable, especially about the medicinal values of the plants. The importance of the mangroves was emphasized. We were in a small group of seven, so all our questions were answered and we had some lively discussions! At the end of the walk, she took out her suitcase of shells and we got a quick tutorial with a lot of fun facts. Great for all ages.

You can get here from the beach as well as the road. Great early morning walk. You can make it as short or long as you want. There is a walk way as well as the beach.

I have been coming to Naples for over thirty years and just visited this place for the first time. I learned of it on Trip Advisor. It is a place I will bring every visitor we have. The boardwalk to the beach is long but there is a shuttle if you need it. We loved the walk through the local vegetation.
The Waldorf Hotel runs a very nice concession stand where we had a light lunch.
The beach is crowded at the end of the boardwalk but if you head north about 200 feet it opens up.

First, thanks to trip advisor and the reviews. If not for the reviews we'd have missed a great place like this. The walk through the mangroves was wonderful. We opted the golf cart while returning from the beach which is absolutely free of cost..Thats a good thing.. The beach was lil crowded as it was a long weekend. But still we enjoyed the place. The rentals seemed to be costly. Better to take our own chairs and umbrella.
