“Greg has done better”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2010

Not the best value for money...though with the very high green fees, one does tend to get uncrowded courses. With a bit of wind, I would think the courses are at best very challenging...with more wind probably unplayable for a 20 handicapper. Narrow and penal and not in very good condition. I thought it was the hard winter and dormant grass, till I played a couple of miles away, where there the course and greens were in great shape, Stil, as typically in Florida, the choices of non-private clubs is so limited, that Tiburon is almost unavoidable in the Naples area. The pro shop was friendly, receptive and very helpful, as were the starter, marshalls and service personnel.

“Played Cheap After 3:00pm - Nice but not worth full price”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2009

Played the Black Course After 3 PM with club rental for $130.00. Nice course but was not overly impressed. Stayed at the resort which was very nice and the staff and service were excellent. I'm used to courses in the North East, so the layout and surrounding are probably what folks from the Southeast expect. Cart paths were nice and the GPS system in the cart was top-notch!

“Nice course, but not a "must play"”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 19, 2008

This is a nice course, but I am not sure it is worth $1000 for a foursome. As other reviewers have noted, the holes are not very memorable and are very similiar as you go through the round.

The clubhouse and staff are excellent. My only complaint is that the only choice for rental clubs is Nike Sasquach, which for a Ritz Carlton resort accomadating to travelers who might not want to lug their clubs on a trip is not acceptable.

The practice area is adequate. The tee boxes offer numerous choices for all levels. The course is very well maintained. The fairways are generous, but the bermuda fairways seem harder than other courses I have played here. The greens are in excellent shape (although get faster from morning to afternoon during your round) and roll true. The waste bunkers are interesting but get tiresome. The regular bunkers are not even throughout the course, but after all they are a hazard. Some of the sand was a bit rocky.

Because of the drought, the water areas were very low, which takes away some of the attractiveness of the course.

My main complaint is that this is not a course that makes you think or demands different shots. There are few memorable holes and every hole seems the same.

“An extremely disappointing experience”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2008

The golf courses were of average quality and conditioning, but the management was probably the rudest group I have ever run across.

We played a tourmament at full green fee prices and were given four hours in which to play. With only one par four to play, we were told to "get off the golf course" because they had scheduled a shotgun tournament at exactly four hours after our start time. The marshall (and the golf pro) were extremely rude about the entire thing. I will NEVER recommend either of these courses to any golfer NOR would I ever play here again - even if they offered me a free round. These people are riduculous mercenaries.

“A bit overrated”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2007

Had the chance to play both the Gold and Black this week. Was a bit disappointed. The Gold is certainly more scenic. For the price I think there must be better alternatives...but if you must play, try finding your tee time on line on wcigolf.com. We were able to play for about 1/3 of listed price by pre paying. In any case this is not a play I would recommend on either course for $250!

Conditioning was great, staff was excellent, just not my idea of a track worth that kind of jack. And certainly don't see this as a links style course!
