I have played here and had lessons at the Gold Academy. Two fantastic courses and the coaching was really top draw. It should be as the US PGA Pros go here for help. Great value rounds in the summer. Staff at the courses and the Academy were very professional and service was excellent

“Play the Black Course if you can”
Reviewed June 16, 2012

We played the black course last week and while it doesn't host a PGA Tour event, it is quite a strong track. It appeared to get very little play, so it was in pristine condition.

It is an exceptionally hard course. Not very long, but extremely tight with waste areas/hazards if you creep off the fairway. If you don't keep it in front of you, you will have a very long day.

I don't think Black is open to public every day, but if you can get out there, take this option over its more famous neighbor.

“Poor”
Reviewed May 11, 2012

We have been to Tiburon for the last 5 years on our annual golf trip, it became a highlight of our trip until yesterday
When we went to the club house they found our 9.30 and 9.40 tee times had been deleted from the system,we were then booked to play at 10.10 and 10.20 on the resort course which was the black course, no one in the pro shop explained why we had our times deleted and also the course change.
It seems like any hotel guest will have priority over any golfer
The starter and the locker guy were great but sadly they were let down by the others.
We were very disappointed with the greens there had been a lot of patching because of problems earlier in the year.
We have played Raptor Bay, Pelican Perserve and Bonita Bay East which were all in a lot better condition

Gary, allow me to apologize for your experience. That is not what we strive for, and it appears we dropped the ball. This review was left in 2012, but we still want to discuss it with you. Please email rpotts@troon.com so we can learn more. Since your visit Troon has started managing the course and we have remastered the Gold Course. We are doing the same to the Black Course this year. Our course conditions are better than ever. The LPGA and PGA TOUR players were raving about it last year during their annual golf tournaments here. Again, please email us so we can learn more and invite you back for an experience that you deserve. Thanks again for sharing your feedback with us and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

“Hotel guests the priority. Holders come second”
Reviewed May 10, 2012 via mobile

Arrivefd to find not only had they moved our tee time by 40 minutes without even the courtesy of informing us but also changed the course. Appears that I'd a hotel guest wants a game on the temple ton shoot house course they come first. State of the course allocated very poor greens especially first five holes. Will I play there again NO. Pelican, Bonita Bay, and Raptor all far better condition and service. Avoid and contribute towards making them consider golfers first

“Not good timing”
Reviewed April 12, 2012

I'm sure the course is typically in good shape but when we were there they had hosted a tournament which affected the grounds but then their wells got salt in them and the greens were burnt up to the point that they were spray painted green and more than half had patches of sod they had replaced. We played in the afternoon so there was a discount for that but not for the condition of the course, nor were we forewarned.
