My Fiancee book our reservation online and paid in advance. When we arrived a couple of hours before our check in time we asked if we could use the pool while we waited for our room. We were told we could not use it before check in time and that it was for hotel guests only. We were given an "upgrade" to a suite because we were told the room we booked online was not available. Unbeknownst to us, the "upgrade" was charged to our credit card. There was also a hidden resort fee which we were charged in addition. When my fiancee called to complain, the staff was rude and arrogant. I have no tolerence for this kind of dishonesty in pricing. Had I known they were going to charge for the "upgrade" I would of refused. It just an example of a desparate place trying to scam a few extra dollars out of a couple of naive travellers. I would never go back to this place and would not recommend it to anyone.

My companion thought I was Mr. Insider because she had traveled to Naples many times but had never heard of this hotel. I simply found it on line! I booked the room for one night before thinking to check the Trip Advisor review. After reading them I though " oh no!" But the place was perfect. The room, water pressure, features, staff were all excellent in spite of reports to the contrary. The place is quiet, the pool is perfect, the continental breakfast just average (but a great pool side setting) and the location terrific. I am in the hotel business,. at the mid price range, so I purposely looked for the issues that others had problems with. I couldn't find any. It's romantic, quiet, sexy, and a two block walk to the beach or several great restaurants and lots of shops. We had 1 bedroom suite, with private garden, next to the pool, for under $200 per night and would have stayed longer if we could have. The place was just what we were hoping for.

We live about 20 minutes drive north of Naples, close to beach etc. But this place is great for a romantic getaway. We spent our anniversary weekend here.
The our suite was beautiful, quiet, very private and just steps away from lovely pool. WIth just 10 rooms the pool is never crowded.
The lighting in the living room was not good for readying since outside every window was vegetation that gave us the privacy we appreciated.
Bath rooms were beautifully appointed as was bedroom, very comfortable.
The complimentary breakfast was limited but fine. Just one person to make and serve though. We realized we should just relax.
This place is a two minute walk to beach and across the street from 5th Ave. South home to great shopping and loads of restaurants in all price ranges.

At first glance this private resort is like paradise. It is was around 500$ a night, but you receive a huge 1 bedroom private villa, complete with living room, mini bar and it is decorated beautifully. The perks of this place is the location you are literally hidden away in a private resort like little Italy but then if you walk 1 minute you are right in the heart of Naples. Or in the other direction from the hotel you are at the beach with a backway private entrance. The only thing lacking with this hotel is anyone that speaks English. The one front desk lady (manager) that did speak English needed a bit of an attitude adjustment. There are no restaurants or room service but you are so close to downtown that you don't even have to get in a car to find a place. We ate a Mexican restaurant that was rather authentic right off the main street and only a 2 minute walk from the hotel. They served specialty Margarita's and the wait staff was very accommodating. If we were to return to Naples we would eat there again. As for staying at this hotel again while it was a different experience we would likely stay elsewhere. For 500 a night I'm sure we have many other options to explore.

My wife and & I stayed at the Hotel Escalante for 5 days. It is a 10 room suite hotel with a lanai outside the backdoor of your room and a swimming pool & jacuzzi just past the lanai. It serves a continetal breakfast & the restauarnt is open for dinner on Thursday-Saturday. The rooms are large & the beds are very comfortable. It is located around the corner from one of the main street in Naples and yet it is secluded and quiet. You can walk to a number of fine restaurants as well as stores for shopping. You can also walk to the beach which is 2 blocks away. The hotel personnel are very helpful and cater to your needs.

All the reviews we had read gave this hotel a promising write up. It looks lovely and all the rooms lead out to the swimming pool. Quite stunning. The situation is excellent, just around the corner from the main street and walkable to the other shopping area. It is also 2 blocks from a lovely beach.
However the room was very disappointing. This is an expensive boutique hotel and we did not expect to have a hanging rail for a wardrobe. Hangers were generous, but an open rail in the bedroom. Please! Not at these prices. When we mentioned it the receptionist did agree but we could not change rooms as the hotel was full. The light was also poor in the room so it was quite dim.
We were happy to stay by the pool for the day but at lunchtime there was no service and not food or drink was available. We were directed to the closest restaurant.
All in all I would not stay there again.
