We have dined in most of the finer 5th ave restaurants. After gorging most of the week, we decided to succumb to our New Year promises by looking for some great fish. This is absolutely the freshest fish we have had in a long time. I ordered the grouper. My guest ordered the snapper. And we started with the most deliciously prepared civiche I've had anywhere. Great service. Reasonably priced. Wonderful people watching spot right on 5th.

Unfortunately a very fine kitchen and wait-staff is undercut by owner-managers who seem unaware of even basic customer service. Despite a reservation made well in advance, and our arrival on time, the owner-manager and his wife, both working at the time, took 40 minutes to seat us. In fact, he couldn't even find us on a seating chart, so we spent 40 minutes at the bar waiting for someone to seat us. Then, the manager actually went to the table next to ours, to a threesome who had barely finished their meals, and said, "Could you move to the bar; we need your table." Then the freed table took a half-an-hour to have someone seated at it, in spite of the desperate need expressed by the manager. In fact there was another table behind us that sat for over thirty minutes without a customer. As we were finishing our meal, then we were asked to move to another table in an over-lighted nook opposite the kitchen doors. Someone needs to give the owner-managers some basic lessons in customer service. Too bad the wait-staff and the cooks have to deal with the unaware, incompetent, amateur management. Get some profession restaurant management consultant before the owners kill the benefits earned by the good food and waiters. And, why no female wait-staff? Seemed a bit odd.

This small spot in Naples on 5th Ave is quite nice. We were seated by the owner and his wife brought the dishes we ordered. We had Coconut Shrimp and Grouper. Both were quite good. I saw the Hogfish at the table next door and it looked nice, too. I must say its nice to spend money with local entrepreneurs who are putting their heart and soul into the business and care about delivering a quality product.

We're from the pacific northwest and we eat a lot of seafood at home and we eat a lot of seafood in good restaurants. The seafood we got on a recent trip to Citrus was some of the best we'd eaten in a long, long time. The owners, Paula and Jay Powell, treated us like we were long lost friends. Jay spent a lot of time giving us suggestions on what to have and judging by our clean plates, he was definitely spot on.

For appetizers, we had Stone crab legs served cold with a little light mustard dipping sauce. After devouring that, we turned our attention to a bowl of muscles steamed in butter and a little wine. Those were gone in a flash and the sauce was quickly mopped up with some garlic french bread that Paula left for us. The muscles were cooked just right and not the least bit rubbery.

Our entrees included a whole Hogfish, Triple fish, and Snapper all of which were perfectly cooked. After dinner, Paula dropped by with a plate of cookies to share with us along with plenty of friendly conversation.

It is great to go to a restaurant where the owners and staff truly enjoy what they are doing and do their best to provide a memorable dining experience. You can probably find less expensive seafood in Naples, but you're not going to find a better dining experience, that's for sure.

We made a reservation at Citrus in order to have dinner while watching the Annual Christmas Parade. The outdoor seating, between Bellini Bar and Paddy Murphy's is perfect. We had the Shrimp Cocktail and Crab Cakes for appetizers--very tasty and well-prepared. Each of us had entrees ordered off the lunch menu as we didn't see anything on the dinner menu that was attractive. I had the Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad--very nice presentation, flavorful but not spectacular. My wife had the fish tacos - all three of us chowed down on them--they were superb! My son had a grouper sandwich which was very tasty. For dessert we shared a Creme Brule Trio - Orange, Lime and Lemon flavors - Really tasty. Our waiter was professional and attentive--he seemed to stop by very frequently to try to "wisk" away our dishes.

We will definitely come back and sample more great food!
