Hadn't been to the Pewter Mug so decided to try it out with some friends. At first we were blown away by some the "specials" prices but when we asked about the "early bird" specials the waitress said we had until 6:30 and life became normal again. :-)
At our table we had a pork chop, salmon, fish & chips and prime rib. There were no complaints. Salad and soup came with each meal. Service was very friendly although a bit rushed around the 6:30 mark. Drinks were good and dessert was super.
We'll go back.

I have been going to the Pewter Mug for at least 15 years. At one time it was our favorite restaurant. It was priced well and had a fantastic salad and soup that cam with your meal. They still have the salad and soup which remain good but the prices have made the Mug far less attractive. I had an awful Cod Dinner tonight that was awful. God knows how it was prepared. My wife had a half chicken that was way over spiced. Our waiter was good but it took forever to bring the food out, even though it was not crowded. They have now instituted valet parking which is totally uneccesary and will prevent me from returning. What are they thinking.

We have gone to the Pewter Mug for many years and absolutely love the place !
But, we decided to eat in the bar last night ? A big mistake ! Slow service and it's like we were made of glass... The bar people were just not up to par compared to all are other dining room experiences . It's like the bar is not at the same level of professionalism as the rest of the restaurant ! The pewter mug is one of are favorites and I just hope that something changes because we do love the place !

Every time we have had dinner at this place the meals have always been great and the salad is unbelieveable. You can't go wrong, it is a little pricey but worth it!

After reading some recent reviews we decided to give it a try. But on New Years Eve, now that's a test. It's refreshing to find a restaurant that still makes "reservations", and not "call ahead" seating. We were greeted at the door and promptly seated. Our server John was polite and informed us of the nightly specials. We both decided on prime rib and then went to the salad bar. To say it was impressive would be an understatement. The only down side was the Italian Wedding Soup was lacking in flavor, in my opinion. Our meals arrived cooked just as ordered and were delicious. I even commented to John how efficient the entire staff was on such a busy night. We are glad we dined here and will return on another special occasion as the prices here are more then what we would pay on a normal night out.
