We decided to do a full day (rather than the half day version) and picked this tour as they do collect you from the hotel. Our guide was Kenny, who deserves a particular mention for his interesting commentary and special effort to find manatees, alligators, etc as well as his depth of knowledge of the area. The airboat tour is a bit of a jolly and good fun too, rather than a nature tour, although a pelican did decide to land on our boat. In the afternoon we went on a boat trip (this is the difference to the half day) and saw manatee, dolphins, diving osprey, and other animals too. Again the captain and his mate were interesting and knowledgable, and this was sedate but worth doing. We also sent a post card from America's smallest post office! Although there is some time spent travelling by van, Kenny filled this time with a lot of information, and if we had driven ourselves we would have missed out on that, and a lot more, and probably got lost too - a point underlined when we met some other people who had to ask Kenny for directions. It's not a cheap trip, but as first timers to this part of the world, it was something we wanted to do and see, and I think this was a great way of doing it.
