“Dolphins!!!”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

What can I say but WOW! This is my third year visiting Naples and I always go to the Pier and I have never been disappointed. What a treat to be able to see dolphins in the wild and pelicans in abundance crashing in the water head first for their meal! I can easily watch this for hours, what a relaxing moment, just enjoying nature and waiting patiently for the awesome sunset. A must do! The beach at the pier is great for walking for hours.

“Nice Place to People Watch”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

Enjoyed watching the people fishing from pier. Saw teen land a 4 ft shark...exciting! Also saw dolphins swim near by. Crowded when we were there, but enjoyable.

“20 minutes, maybe”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

The Pier is a great option primarily for those wanting to fish or those wanting to watch other people fish. You'll likely get a glimpse of dolphins and more than a glimpse of 80 year old women wandering the Pier in bikinis (ewww). The Pier is windy as all get out, so bringing a jacket even if the temps are in the 70's. Also, be sure to wear shoes to avoid splinters from the Pier's wood planks.

The area leading to the Pier is very quiet residential neighborhood, so you won't see ANY tourist shops, restaurants, parasail places, etc. There is a snack shop mid way down the Pier where you can get a hot dog and a slushie. There's also a public bathroom you'll pass by on your way onto the Pier.

The high end 5th Ave shopping district is 2-3 blocks away which is great for the family that wants to multi-process (ladies go shopping while the gents fish, or vice versa).

It's mildly interesting that the Pier was originally built in 1889, but our family was pretty much done with this attraction about 20 minutes after we arrived.

“Great for fishing, wildlife viewing and sunsets”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

The pier is a nice place to spend an hour or two, to catch great sunsets, for fishing (can get as many fish as you want, no limit nor fee) and to view dolphins and birds. However, with preschoolers, they might get bored pretty quickly. Parking is available around at a cost, free parking can be found as well if you are willing to walk a bit. You might want to spend some time at the beach as well. Restrooms (very clean) are close to the pier. Please note that for the people that hate blood and/or fish smell, this is not a good place, as fishermen can (most will) prepare their fillet on site. Everything is free, except the parking.

“Love Dolphins!”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

We stopped at the pier first when we arrived in Naples. It was crowded with fishermen (careful, some of them are a little wild when casting, reeling in) but we were able to find a spot to look our over the Gulf. it was a beautiful experience. The gulf was clear and green, and the dolphins were playing. The pelicans were diving in to the water for fish, and were quite entertaining. A truly lovely view, and worth a stop. The meters are 25 cents every 10 minutes and you need to get quarters before you arrive.
We spent the afternoon on the beach beside the pier, and it was also so beautiful and tranquil.
