Food wasn't terrible, but was certainly nothing to write home about. My fish and chips wasn't bad but someone else elected baked potato with it and it was half cooked. My wife's oriental dish was overly salty and skimpy on the more desirable ingredients. Entertainment wasn't bad but definitely geared to the geriatric crowd (which is where I guess I belong nowadays). As usual conversation is not possible during the entertainment.

Seeking out an old hang out and trying out the new location we ventured to the eastside to have a pint. Parking was ample. Upon entry there was a BINGO game being called. This meant that the crowd was 50's and 60's all surrounding the bar dotting their BINGO cards. Not pleased we still sat down to give it a shot. We sat at a high top but the chairs were not comfortable. The place was lit up bright which is the opposite of what it used to be. There are no nuts or private areas like there used to be wither. Portrait of Churchill is hidden back in the corner. As we ordered a a beer we noticed that the BINGO game was going on, and on and on.... never ending and annoying. We received our beers and started a tab just in case. The bartender was very friendly and helpful so staff was not the problem. We drank down half of our drinks and the BINGO game continued. We drank the rest of our beers and the game finally concluded. As soon as it did everyone left and there were three people plus live entertainment (80's/90's American rock music) left plus the bartender. We paid and left. We won't be returning. There is no British flare in this place other than the sign outside, Winston way back in the back and the 'tin man' in the opposite corner. The beers were served in Bud Light glasses. What happened to the proper glassware they used to have? Proper glasses are a must for a British pub. I am saddened to say this won't be our hangout in the future. We will locate an authentic pub that cares about being what they say they are. Slapping "The English Pub" on the sign doesn't make it so.

I stopped in yesterday for a quick and lovely outdoor lunch. The new location has really been updated for the better. New owners are working very hard. Service was friendly and fast, food was great and I can't wait to attend one of the infamous evening events. Thanks for a great experience - will be back soon.

As semi-
We made a charitable donation which resulted in our receiving a coupon book which included 2 for1 dinners at the English Pub. Being semi-regulars, we arrived for our usual Thursday evening dinner and drinks. We were very disappointed to learn that the coupon would not be honored. As a result of your refusal to honor the coupon resulted in our decision to dine elsewhere. It is unfortunate that you turn off semi-regular customers when thr restaurant was pretty much empty at dinner time. We will be finding a new regular place for dinner and drinks.
