Wonderful dining experience. The service was phenomenal. Each person we had contact was attentive, yet genuine. Our wait team (there were 2) were perfectly in synch with us and each other. We had quite a few questions which were answered so well, we ended up with perfect food choices. The food was a ten, as were our drinks. It was a packed Saturday night in high season and this place handled itself with aplomb. The woman next to us lost her credit card down the bench - the waiter handled the situation with grace. Assured her it was no big deal as he tore the place apart and during a time when it was the LAST thin he had time for. Same thing with management moving tables around to accommodate people. What could have been a disconcerting distraction to the other diners, they some how made amusing, but acknowledging to us that what they were doing was a bit odd (and even explained why they were doing what they were doing). Notables were the mixed seafood carpaccio platter (with fish described to me before I ordered it that was dead on in its accuracy) and the ravioli. Can't say enough good things about this restauarant.

“Didn't meet all expectations”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2012

We had looked forward to dining at Sea Salt for our weekend Valentines celebration (2/11/12) particularly based on reviews we had read. We arrived just about 10 minutes prior to our 8:45 pm reservation and were barely greeted by the hostess, who not only never looked up at us, but with her mouth full of her shrimp cocktail asked us if we had reservations. Upon confirming that we did, she was slightly more amenable to our presence. We were asked to wait until a table was cleared. We were taken to a table in the main dining room by a hostess who seemed just a bit shocked that the table hadn't yet been cleared. She asked us to wait and simply walked away, leaving us in the middle of the dining room. We moved to the side and then watched another hostess take another couple and seat them at the table we'd been waiting for! Yikes! Our hostess returned and now looked super confused to see people sitting at 'our' table. She proceeded to escort us to a table that was in an adjacent dining area; we wanted to be in the main room so she was able to finally seat us at a 4-top near the kitchen. OK, things had to look up from here. While the food really was wonderful and our waiter was very personable, our water glasses were never once filled after the inital pour; the sea salts placed on the table came with no explanation ((they should cross-market that they sell these interesting salts at a minimum!) AND we we overcharged on our bill by $100 for our wine selection. The food alone didn't quite make up for all the little uh-oh's we experienced. Overall I'd have to say the evening (minus my dining companion) was 'eh'. It was OK; we won't head back to Sea Salt anytime soon.

“Lunch”

The fish tacos were excellent! Fresh and flavorful, the potato fries were good. The tomato soup was delicious. I ordered a tuna salad (my mistake) it was good but overpriced. Nice, will return.

“Sea Salt has a new sister restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2012

....and its called Barbatella and it is simply superb. Located a few doors down on 3rd St South, this new bistro is going to turn Italian cooking on its ear in this sleepy resort town. A limited menu in the sense that they do several entrees under each heading (pizzas/meat/fish/pasta etc) and they do them ALL perfectly. Keep it short, simple and consistent and thats what they have done. The Orrechette is not to be missed...nor is the lasagna. The parma prosciutto pizza with the arugula is scary delicious.Perfectly portioned. Perfectly balanced....and if their wine list isnt broad enough for you, they will run up to Sea Salt to pilfer from their collection. Im going back for my third time in one week. Cant wait.

“Very good.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2012

Liked this place alot. Food was outstanding. Service was very good. Vibe was relaxed yet sophisticated. Sat outside which was nice. Brought in a couple bottles of my own wine and wine steward was very helpful and friendly. $25 per bottle corkage a bit steep. Only downside was it was a bit overpriced. For a once-in-a-while special occassion this place is great. Otherwise, you might get poor real quick....
