Ever been on a cruise and gotten off the ship in a Caribbean island - surrounded by people trying to sell you stuff. That's Tin City. Now, in fairness, we were disappointed that the guy who lets you hold his pet alligator was on a lunch break and wouldn't open up for another half hour. We didn't have time to wait. However, we did find the T-shirts-that-turn-colors-in-the-sunlight and bought some for our grandsons so that made us smile. Parking was the pits. And all the booths require negotiating through the crowds to see but I guess its worth spending a half hour there. And, if you do, the alligator guy might be open. WAIT! my wife is telling me I am too harsh. She said there's a great jewelry shop that women would love. Also, our friend also says the thing to do is buy a hot fresh cookie at the cookie shop and run over to the ice cream shop to get a scoop ice cream to melt on the hot cookie. AND BONUS-BONUS-BONUS - you may be lucky to see the traveling exhibit - for $8 you can walk onto the Nina or the Pinta boats (full size replicas of Columbus', they say......). OK go because my wife said to. A happy wife is a happy life.
