“Anniversary Dinner”
Reviewed January 27, 2014

We had a late reservation and were seated outside by a heater since it was so cold which made it very comfortable while we waited. We had drinks and escargot which was the best I have ever eaten. Our daughter had given us a weekend in Mount Dora for our anniversary and we thoroughly enjoyed visiting this town and especially The Goblin Market which a friend had recommended to us. We definitely look forward to a return visit.

“Great food and ambience...just don't be in a hurry”
Reviewed January 25, 2014

We stumbled upon this restaurant in a back alley in Mount Dora. We were taken upstairs to a lovely room with an adjacent bar and sitting room. It felt like we were in an old library. Very tasteful furnishings. The food was wonderful. My husband had the sirloin salad and I had the potato crusted grouper/caesar salad. Both the sirloin and grouper were absolutely delectable and the salads complemented them perfectly. Along with a dinner roll, the lunch was very satisfying. Just don't be in a hurry as the service was very slow. The tasty lunch was well worth the wait, though, and we would definitely go back and try some of their other entrees/sandwiches. There was a celebration of several people going on in the bar area, where there are a group of sofas and chairs in a living room type atmosphere. There was also another table of 8 women which might account for the wait. But it didn't bother us, we didn't need to be anywhere.

“Great restaurant..”
Reviewed January 23, 2014 via mobile

Delicious food and a creative menu. However the Trip Advisor address is wrong and we almost missed it thinking it was gone.

Try the pork belly or the Duck, both were delicious.

“Reliably the Best in Mt. Dora”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

There are many restaurants in Mount Dora, and many are very good, - Pisces Rising and Palm Grill for example, but year after year the Goblin Market delivers very very good food, in an eccentric and artistic atmosphere, served by knowledgeable and affable waiters.

So popular that it is now on the dinner menu, (insiders used to know to ask for it) is the French onion soup, with Irish whisky, lots of chees, and onion strings on the cheese.

Off the somewhat obscure Dora Drawdy Lane, it is in an old house, with a couple of garden 'rooms', the main two rooms, and a charming two rooms upstairs. All are good, and the downstairs menu is available in the first of the upstairs rooms, with a bar menu in, doh-oh the bar.

After dinner on a Friday, wander over to the Lakeside Inn to catch a set or two of Jonny Carlson's excellent jazz trio.

It'll be a night to remember.
