Deciding to spend the Day in Mt. Dora, my husband and I, along with another couple, spent the good part of the morning and afternoon walking through town and shopping. The other couple with us had a small dog, and I have to admit that I have never been in such a pet friendly city. When a gentleman and his wife overheard us trying to make up our mind about where to eat, he recommended Pisces Rising. He gave us directions which led us near the water and the tracks. What a surprising find. The luncheon menu was varied and we decided on splitting an Island Chicken, which the waitress did without any question. the other orders were the Key Largo fish sandwich, which also could have been splits for the size of the serving, and the Crab Cake Sandwich. All were delicious and all were $15 or less. the homemade chips were outstanding. the waitress was very attentive and provided us with our meals in a timely manner. In addition, she provided a bowl of water for our dog without our asking.
The view of the water was also delightful. Although indoor dining is also an option, we ate on the patio. The food, service, and location make this a stop one should not miss.
