We were greeted immediately and told we had a five minute wait. we ordered something to drink and sat outside waiting for our table for two After ten minutes we were told we just had to wait a few more minutes. More people came, waited and were called for dinner. After another fifteen minutes we were told our table was ready and it was just being cleaned off. Finally after twenty minutes more, my wife went inside to see what was going on. The hostess rushed over and said that owner likes to seat large parties first. We asked why we were treated like this and the hostess actually laughed. We said we've been patiently waiting more than an hour and felt mistreated. Again no response from the hostess except a laugh. Never treated so poorly and will never return

We were pleasantly surprised by the friendly service, delicious schnitzel, fresh HB beer and attentive owner - very good authentic food at a reasonable price. Mmmmmmmmm

The Chamber of Commerce recommended this restaurant to us during a recent visit to Mt. Dora. We decided to try it since it was just a short walk from our hotel and my companion loves German cuisine. Our server made several menu suggestions since we were new to the restaurant. We ordered several of them and were not disappointed. My companion selected Wiener Schnitzel and sauerkraut, and he claimed these dishes were some of the best he'd ever eaten. I had the Schweinebraten pork which was so tender I could "cut" it with a fork. And, as promised by our waitress, my red cabbage was so delicious I hated to eat the last bite - a wonderful combination of sweet and sour flavors perfectly blended together. A crisp white German wine complimented our meal, and we finished it off with a huge, shared piece of delightfully cinnamonn-ie apple strudel, topped with vanilla sauce and ice cream. We ate outside and enjoyed watching the street traffic. This restaurant is new to Mt. Dora. The atmosphere is very casual, but comfortable, and the service we received was extremely attentive. We'll definitely eat there the next time we're back in town.

Our group of 5 visited the Bavarian House on a busy Friday night. The place was very simply decorated, similar to the places I visited in Germany. The servers were knowledgeable about the menu and quite attentive. Both the owners visited our table more than once. The food was excellent. This was a nice and 'different' experience. I will definately return for more!

This was our second visit to Mount Dora and wanted to try a new place which lead us to the Bavarian Haus. We had read some of the negative reviews and decided to give it a try anyway. As we approached the restaurant we saw they had some outside seating and due to the cool night they had a heater going. We met the hostess at the outside entrance and asked to be seated inside. The hostess said it would be a 20 minute wait for inside seating, even though we saw empty seating inside. She further stated that there was no wait to sit outside. We decide to wait for inside seating so we provided our cell phone number as required so we could be called when our table was ready. Once we did that the hostess said that the wait may only be 10 minutes. We decided to stroll away for a few minutes as we waited for our table because there is no comfortable place to wait for a table at the restaurant. As we walked we felt suspicious about their seating "strategy". Well within two minutes of our wait/walk, we were called and told that our table was ready, wow how did that happen?? We declined the invite to return for our seating and followed our gut instinct to pass it by. We will wait for more favorable reviews before we think of going back to this place.
