Happy Hour is beer or margaritas, 2 for 1, and there was actually tequila in them ;-) Off to a great start at the bar, 15 mins wait list for a table, chatted up other patrons sitting across from us, everyone was friendly and nice. On to our booth for dinner. The hot crab dip was excellent and we're originally from Maryland so that's a high level of expectation met.

Both of us ordered grouper stuffed with crabmeat. WARNING: One of these is enough for 2-3 people. Seriously. It was a little appalling, how massive it was and that it was topped with lots of melted white cheese. I was dieting and not expecting all that. The crab stuffing (mostly bread) was 3-4 times as high as the fish and the cheese...buried the taste of the grouper. The mashed potato portions were also HUGE, seriously, and came topped with gravy. Wasn't expecting that, either. The waitress happily brought me a side of potatoes without gravy rather than removing my plate.

Service was very good, bill for food was $47, no complaints there. Next time I would order grilled grouper and hope the fish was tasty when unsheathed from the grotesque amount of stuffing and cheese piled on it. Would like to have given 4 stars, but only the happy hour, appetizer and atmosphere rated that. I'll add a photo of the entree when I can download and edit pix from the trip. Seeing is believing...

We found Jeremiah's recommendation on TripAdvisor. So we decided to have dinner there on a Fri night before the play at the Ice House Theatre. WOW...we did not have to wait very long..were seated and in a few seconds we were asked about drinks. Then our server appeared and we asked for a few minutes to digest the menu. We were just ready to order and she appeared again. We ordered the fried mac n cheese for appetizer, a rib eye and the chicken fried steak. The mac n cheese was wonderful...so creamy, crispy and tasty...a MUST ORDER AND TRY No sooner had we finished the appetizer but the basket was whisked away and our dinners appeared. The food was great and the service was OUTSTANDING. Our server has worked there for 12 years and it sure shows it. Everything was perfect and we will visit again when in the area.

We were very lost finding our way into Mt. Dora. We passed Jeremiah's and stopped and felt right at home. It definitely was where the locals came. They have great specials on drinks, and the Margarita was delicious. The food was very good and reasonably priced. We went back later in the week as well. I really could have come back every night but we wanted to try some different places! And the couple behind us struck up a conversation (locals) and they gave us great directions to our hotel. Not fancy, but a place where everyone could know your name. They do have an actual bar, but it feels more like a restaurant and one room has no bar.

Our friends took us to this place after a wonderful day of golf. The atmosphere was fun and upbeat. Our meal was good. 2 for 1 Beer and Margarita's of which were very refreshing. The Crab Appetizer Dip was exceptional.
My husband had the haddock special which looked and tasted delicious. Our friend had the prime rib which looked amazing also. I enjoyed the rib and wing combo dinner which it could not finish but tasted great. You certainly get value for your money.
The only unfortunate thing was our waitress who was very surly and not very attentive. On two occasions she just took plates away without checking to see if we were finished. My friend had to tell her to leave the beer glass as she was not finished with it yet. When she came back for it later very sarcastically asked "Are you finished now?" Usually we are great tippers at 20% as we know how had hard wait staff work but she was lucky to get 10%. Our friends had been here many times with great service so we will go back again.

The food was great , the place is decorated with antiques and Tiffany-like lamps, nice atmosphere. The service was a little slow considered that there were not many people, but I guess the food was still cooking which is good, not what you expect from a fast food restaurant.
