My wife & I eat out nearly every night so, "Vincent's Italian Restaurant" wasn't easy to ignore with all the cars jammed in the parking lot. Sitting up on a hill on Hwy. 441, you'll see it on the left as you head North as you approach Highland Street in Mount Dora. It's NOT CALLED "Vincente's Italian Ristorante" ... there's No Fancy Pretense here. It's just plain good Italian food. It IS the 'sister' to "Mount Dora Pizza" and "Angelo's" in Leesburg so, the menu's compliment each other, or are exactly the same in part. You''ll find Vincent's busy nearly ALWAYS for good reason. The food is excellent and it's consistent. Two can eat here for under $30 and still leave with a heavy doggie-box because the portions are generous. We've been dining here, off and on, for about 8 years and the food / service is always good with the family ownership as compatible as the food.
They have MEAT Ravioli and a Seafood (Posillipo) Dish prepared in Red Sauce with Mussel's, Squid, Shrimp etc. that is often overlooked but, is the highlight of the Menu. I think the Red Sauce is patented , at least between the three restaurants, because it is the same at each venue and quite delicious. If you're looking for 'Fancy-Schmancy', and want to impress your relatives, drive another 6 miles North to "Angelo's". The entree's there are sometimes $1 -2 more but, the ambience is MUCH nicer. Vincents is showing it's age but, you don't build CHARACTER with remodeled walls and a new paint job. Fact is: if they did remodel it- elevated entree prices would soon follow. So...."sit down zip-it" and chow-down :) ..... before they catch-on.
You're also probably not going to find a $42 bottle of wine on Vincent's menu but, the food ( especially Seafood) will be cooked properly and a MUCH better value than the 'other' Italian Rest. in Downtown Mt. Dora. This is kind of THE LOCAL'S (in-the-know) Italian Restaurant as the menu prices haven't changed in the 8 years we've been going there so, it's been practically Recession Proof- an Oddity in this economy. Though it's far from 5 Star you'll leave with the same filled tummy and a lot more money in your pocket.
