Owner description: At Adventures Unlimited, you have the opportunity to experience canoeing unlike anywhere in the world. The spring fed rivers flow at an average depth of two feet over a soft, sandy bottom through state forest. White sand beaches dot the banks; perfect for swimming, sunning and picnicking. Two hours or three days… canoe, tube, kayak… camp… in tents or cabins… alone, with your family, a friend, or a group of friends. Adventures Unlimited is also the home of Florida Zip Adventures. A series of canopy zip line tours that are fun for the whole family.

“More like "Stumps Unlimited" or "Black and Blue Water"”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 14, 2013

I have kayaked, canoed and tubed down streams, rivers and bayous in Florida, Alabama and Mississippi and never had a bad experience until yesterday. Our group was three adults, a 14 year old, two 10 year olds and a 7 year old. We went on the 7 mile trip and rented two kayaks and five tubes. We were told by the staff it would take us around three and a half hours I knew this was impossible but our group was so excited I just grabbed my tube and left. There was no staff around to help you locate the lifejackets, kayaks and tubes, not much service for the price. Did I mention it was the most money I have ever paid to rent tubes and kayaks of all the places I've been? I feel a more knowledgable staff would have encouraged us to take the four mile trip since we had three children and mostly tubes or insisted we take canoes instead. The creek was so full of tree stumps, snarls and roots that someone was constantly getting caught up and or hurt. The current in these places was rough and swift making it very difficult to to get back and help anyone who got in a bind. My advice to anyone wishing to go down this creek is " do not tube this creek at all." This creek is beautiful but I would suggest taking a canoe or kayak and leaving small children at home. This 7 mile tube trip took us 6 hours all the staff were gone when we dragged in. Hope this review helps you.

We are so sorry to hear about your unpleasant experience on Coldwater Creek. It was definitely a staff error to allow tubes on the 7 mile trip which is a 6 hour trip in a tube. Our policy is that tubes are only allowed on the 4 mile trip which takes 4 hours in a tube. We apologize greatly. Unfortunately when you went on Coldwater Creek it was at a lower than normal level which would mean many stumps would be more apparent than when the river is at a normal level. We would like to offer you and your family a complimentary trip in the appropriate craft if you would like to return. Thank you for your honest review and we hope to make your next visit a positive one.

“River Floating”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 14, 2013 via mobile

Visited the area looking for adventure. What a great trip down the river while relaxing too. The drivers were great in explaining the pick up area and the fork in the river. Water shoes are a must because of the tree stumps in the river and gravel on the beaches. Do bring snacks, beverages, and a floating cooler to stop and enjoy the beauty along the many beaches along the river. Great time had by all!

“A relaxing camp experience with beautiful river activities.”

We kayaked and had the river to ourselves. The weekend before memorial was quiet and very enjoyable. The zip lining looked interesting cross crossing over the river but we ran out of time.
