This apartment sits above the host's home, and Iona is extremely friendly and welcoming. It was a bit of an effort to lug our bags up the steps but that was OK. The windows give nice views and fresh breezes. Had to get used to the A-framed walls; it is a loft conversion. The kitchenette is a little on the small side, but no matter if you're only there for a couple of nights. It is a pleasant place to stay, away from the crowds, to explore Skye.
Magnificent and very warm apartment and ideally placed to discover Skye. We crossed 3 wonderful days In this magnificent and quiet site.
Great base from which to explore the Isle of Skye. The apartment is modern, well-maintained & equipped and very clean. We were a family of 3 and had an amazing week. Would highly recommend and would certainly re-visit if we ever return in the future.
We went to visit Glenhinnisdal for the second time and found everything as expected. Lovely location, clean and well equipped appartment. Nothing to complain about. We enjoyed every minute and were lucky with the weather...
Fabulous scenery right outside the window. The rental had everything we required, including a washing machine.
We loved being in a rural setting and exploring what the Isle of Skye had to offer, including some highland cattle.
Iona was very organised and answered our questions very quickly.
Good location on Trotternish peninsula. Quiet and peaceful pastoral setting. Enjoyed looking out to views of sheep and cows and hearing their sounds. Well equipped kitchen enabled us to make our own breakfasts and several other meals. Nicely furnished, with a very comfortable bed. Were a little disappointed with WiFi until we discovered it was much stronger in the bedrooms. (Important for us as my husband had to keep in touch with his work). There is a television in every room and a nice selection of dvds for both adults and children. We never turned on the tellys as the weather was good and we were eager to get out, but would be good for rainy days with children. Enjoyed being greeted by Zelda, the cat. 15-20 minutes to Portree for groceries, restaurants, and gift shops. Good base for exploring the island.
Tips: You definitely need a car if you stay here, but that's true for most of Skye. Also a good map, not just the free tourist maps. Directions to the apartment were not very clear and the only map provided was the one online. Written directions would have been helpful. All in all, a home away from home.
We had a great experience on our trip to Isle of Skye. The apartment was beautiful and equipped with anything you would need. Very relaxing environment. Beautiful scenery right outside the windows. Iona was very nice and helpful. She was very responsive to emails and questions. She had shortbread, coffee and milk waiting for us which was a nice treat. The apartment was easy to find and in a great location. We were short distance from both Uig and Portree. Would highly recommend!
