I stayed here twice during my travel via the Miami International Airport to South Amercia. It is located about 1 mile from the airport, and is affordable and comforable with an excellent restaurant for breakfast or dinner. There is a free 24 hour airport shuttle to and from the hotel. When in transit again in Miami, I will use this hotel. And considering is close to the airport, the hotel was very quiet.

Room Tip: I asked for a quiet room at the back of the hotel.

I'll be entirely honest with this review. It's an airport hotel and for that it meets the expectations exactly, it's a place for a one night stay and that's what it offers. It's an older building and almost everything in it seems to be there since the hotel opened its doors the first time, outdated but still functional.

The beds are comfortable, the shower is very good and the price is just right. Plus everyone is very friendly and ready to help, excellent service.

Also, it offers airport shuttle every half hour, 24-7, for the guests, no extra charge. Very helpful and they'll drop you at the right spot for your airline in Miami Int. Airport (if you know the place you know that is a BIG help).

If you're looking for a hotel airport, in other words, a place to spend the night while waiting for your flight, it's PERFECT. I definitely recommend it if you have a long wait ahead of you in the airport. But it's not a hotel for you if you want to spend time in Miami or if you're looking for luxury.

We arrived at the airport two days before our cruise; we intended on staying at a decent hotel. The room was VERY clean, but everything else was not good. The hotel on the 9th floor was nice but the waiter did not understand English very well. My husband's food was very salty, I asked that it be taken back and give him a steak, which was really good that I had, but he said ok and never bought the steak. The prices are not expensive but not cheap either.

There is a burger king across the street of a very busy and dangerous intersection. Next to that is Tropical pollio, love that restaurant!!!!!

They have a shuttle, so I called the front desk and asked if they could take us to a local restaurant and was told about a really nice restaurant that was close and that the shuttle would take us; I get downstairs with my husband and parents and ask the van driver, he said yes he could after the front desk ok'd it. I asked the lady at the desk and she said yes.... Then the man next to her said NO!!!!!! Needless to say, we took the shuttle back to the aurport and rented a car.

We travel all the time and I never do reviews but I'm starting now!

This hotel would be acceptable for an one day stay or just a quick overnight when you only need a bed to lay your head.

One more thing, the hotel has two sides.... The "old" side where we stayed only has one SLOW elevator. To top it off, someone kept pressing the buttons for all the floors!

We are sorry that we were not able to provide you a better quality of service. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. This is not a typical experience here at the Holiday Inn. We will be working with the food and beverage team to address the issue you listed. We are fortunate to have a bi-lingual staff that speaks Spanish, English, Portuguese, and French given the geographical location and proximity to one of the largest international airport in the country MIA. In regards to the shuttle service we take your concerns to heart and will be discussing your review with our drivers and front office team. Thank you again for your review we appreciate your time.

our flight was delayed and we thought it would be down hill from there on, but from the moment we arrived until we went back to the airport we couldn't have asked for a better place to spend the night

We stayed at the hotel for a family reunion and took the free shuttle to the Port of Miami. Everything was very good! Ana at the Front Desk was very helpful. The room was very spacious we had some corner and some regular rooms the corner rooms are better.

Room Tip: Corner Rooms have more space

Stayed here for one night prior to an early morning flight from Miami Airport, and what a disappointment it was! The lobby is cramped and loud and the rooms not much better, our room was a twin queen, able to fit a family of four? I don't think so, I'm 17 and was sharing a bed with my brother (14), the beds were tiny and rock hard and I did not sleep for more than an hour in at a time maximum, the pictures on Trip Advisor are extremely misleading, our room was shabby and in fact the whole place needed a thorough cleaning. Another gripe is the lack of soundproofing, you hear planes going up until about 11 and then start up again at 5am, obviously the hotel has made no effort to block the noise at all, not what you want from an airport hotel, the point of an airport hotel is a nice, quiet place to rest your head the night before a flight, but its a huge letdown for such a big chain to fail to meet these simple objectives.

The restaurant was below average as expected from a Holiday Inn, we had dinner and breakfast, both of which lacked good service, the waiters all seemed to be inexperienced and didn't understand the concept of having a starter as a entree. Breakfast lacked basic foods like bacon and the food, fruit and juices were not fresh. In addition it is stupidly overpriced, for a family of four, it came to about $60 each meal, which would have been reasonable if the food was actually decent. Despite this the restaurant is presented nicely on the top floor and the views are good.

There are some communal facilities which we did not use, the pool looked extremely dirty and anybody could have just came into the hotel and used it but the shop where you could buy snacks and things was good, definitely use it instead of the restaurant and the bar and lounge looked good but wasn't open.

Another thing which this airport hotel fails at is providing reliable transfers to the terminal, we waited in the lobby for 30 mins for a transfer in the morning and after we had checked out the airport the day before (as we hadn't been to Miami before), we had to wait about 30mins again, whilst watching the Marriott, Hilton and Embassy Suites buses go past every 5mins. And after this, the driver still wanted a tip at the end of the two minute journey to the hotel.

To be honest, this hotel fails in all basic things you would expect, its not terrible, because of the location and by the looks of things some of the rooms look OK, but my experience was not good for a Holiday Inn.

Dear Guest,

We have reviewed your comments and we are thankful for your valuable feedback, we will like to emphasize that our property is equipped with double sided windows that usually block out most of the Airport noise, as a matter of fact we have been inspected by Airline Crew Unions who are very demanding and strict about room noise levels as mandated by the FAA and we have passed with flying colors. As our hotel is only two miles away from the Miami Airport but not on the landing path a certain level of noise is unavoidable, servicing over seventy thousand guests a year we rarely hear guests complaining of airport noise and our double sided windows are a big selling points for our volume clients. As per your comments regarding the airport transportation, you mentioned that our shuttle was taking thirty minutes to be go and come back from the airport, I will like to point out that 30 minutes is our advertised time in between trips to the Miami Airport, your mentioned that you noticed Marriott and Other competitors going to the Airport every 5 minutes and the reason behind that is that there are 6 Marriotts that pick up at the Airport as well as several other brands that pass by the Airport pick up area that will cause your perception of delay. On the prices for our Food and Beverage offerings, we are very competitive in the area and our Breakfast Buffet is very affordable at $12.00 over the average of $20 dollars for comparable offerings in the area, our buffet has over 40 items that are served fresh every morning and our fruit is cut fresh as well, we offer Ham or Bacon alternatively and our Juice is Tropicana Orange Juice as per Holiday Inn Standards. To address your comments regarding our rooms accomodations, we consider a room with two double beds a room that can accomodate up to four guests, this is an industry standard and a choice of an additional connecting room would have been an option for you and your family if you would have requested it.

I will like to apologize for your many inconveniences and will like to make myself available for any follow up or clarification I may be able to offer.
