Was supposed to stay a week, left after two days after much haggling with both agent and hotel management--(we paid in advance thru Expedia). The site is lovely, but has some serious identity problems and is under alot of intrusive construction. Both pools were closed, 3 of 4 elevators down, cable out. All balconies closed. Half of the place is designed to be condos, so it has an odd impersaonal vibe. A short walk to over a boardwalk takes you beach side, and it is a nice beach (public). The building is old and grand in a kind of slick but crumbling way. Room was enormous, more like a 1-bedroom apartment. Never ate there, the bar is covered with scaffolding and seats maybe 15 people. A nice mix of guests, tho the late nite yahoos (4 am) make a ton of noise in the outdoor hot tub even when it supposed to be closed. Try complaining, good luck. This place might be okay in say two years time IF they shore up some integrity. Beware of the added "resort fee" they had a nerve to tack on when all resort-like amenities were unavailable. You've been warned.
