“two different night stay 7-25-14 & 7-27-14”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2014

we stayed there two different nights and had two different rooms. The one with the king size bed was clean, just small room and small bath room. The one one with two double beds was much better space wise. Both rooms very clean and hotel clean and bell hops were extremly helpful. Only issues when checking out on the 7-28-14 desk clerk said he called for car, we waited and waited. Finally went back to desk. He was gone and new clerk said the car hadn't been requested. Almost missed airport. Also when checking in on 7-27-14 they had antique cars parked in front of hotel so no place to unload and no valet around. This made it extremely diffiecutl to check in---had to drive around a couple of times. Last but not lease on each day after checking out had breakfast out front (food very good and service very good) the hostes asked if we got the free certificate for breakfast. this upsets me since we stayed there two nights the compliementary break certificates were not offered by the desk clerk either day---this cost me additiional monies..

Room Tip: room 415 ---double bed room

This hotel is on Ocean Dr. in South Beach. Ocean Dr. is the street that faces the beach (Ocean Dr, get it?) and South Beach being South Beach there are lots of restaurants, clubs and people. So if you're looking for somewhere super quiet and low traffic this is not your place nor would any place on Ocean, Collins or Washington this side of the beach be suitable for you. If you're looking for nightlife, things to do within walking distance, shopping, partying, culture and everything that South Beach has to offer this is a great spot.

Parking is valet, unless you find a garage nearby, but I would highly suggest using the valet (we did) which is probably less expensive and definitely more convenient than nearby parking options.

The hotel is boutique. Unique modern and stylish furnishings that are representative of Miami's Art Deco and ultra modern heritage. The furnishings and fixtures and are retrofitted around the hotels original structure as the hotel is also antique. It itself is from the art deco period so keep in mind that then, unlike now, things were a bit smaller. Things like elevators, stairways, rooms, bathrooms, etc.

That being said the rooms are on the small side so I wouldn't suggest packing your entire closet if you're staying here. There is ample storage in the room for clothes (a two shelf dresser and a typical hotel-sized closet). Rooms have an alarm clock/iPod dock (has lightning connector but at the front desk I think they had 30 pin adapters). Small wall mounted LCD TV, decent bed(s), wall AC and fan. The bathroom is tiny and had a frosted glass door so if you're staying here with a friend make sure that you're pretty comfortable with each other as there is not much in the way of privacy with the bathroom as you can kinda see people through the bathroom door when closed... or at least the outline of people. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be from reading other reviews before checking in here.

Our stay included breakfast, which was undoubtedly the best complimentary breakfast I have ever had at a hotel. You have quite a few options. They had *real* orange juice (not that concentrate/pasteurized store bought stuff), great coffee and hot food. You also get to sit out in the front and enjoy the beach/Ocean Dr passerby's.

The only annoyance we had during our stay is that for what felt like an eternity there was a security alarm going off next door that was super loud. Not the hotels fault and when I rang the front desk they were in contact with the owner or whomever to get it silenced but ugh. Even after it was off I could still hear the sound in my head for an hour.

If this hotel was in any other location it would be a five star hotel but even among the plentiful options in South Beach it's still a solid place to stay at a good value. Oh, and if you're a movie person... Remember the chainsaw scene in Scarface? That was filmed here.

Room Tip: Room we had with two beds had one king and one queen.

We were three friends from Norway, starting our East Coast road trip in Miami, and Beacon Hotel was our first stop, where we spent a few days, just to get used to the USA. Everything was perfect: the service, location, the rooms, the breakfast!

In the heart of the Deco district, the Beacon offers a quiet, unique rooms that are ice cold nestled along Ocean drive. Minutes from Lincoln road shopping district and looking out on Miami beach. Service is fantastic, complimentary FULL breakfast of your choice that you can eat along the street while people watching. Rooms are lovely and even though the street is loud at night, your room is quiet and cold, which helps when coming back from a hot beach! Highly recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with an indoor hallway. It's cooler, king size beds and near the complimentary le...

From the moment we pulled up to the valet to the time we left we felt like we were personally welcomed. Even though there are five floors of guests, we were always welcomed by our names. We requested a room with a view and received room 504. It had a view of the park, palm trees, and we could see the water over the trees. The breakfasts were complimentary and delicious (we are foodies). We also had vouchers for two complimentary mohitos which were quite good! The location was great bc we were in walking distance of all the nightlife. We even rented bikes from the kiosk across the street. The room includes two beach chairs and towels and the beach was a short walk across Ocean Drive. Definitely check out Mega pizza around the corner.

This is my first ever trip advisor review and I felt compelled to make it. I stayed in the Beacon from 14-21 July 2014 with my friend. In my view this is the best hotel on Ocean Drive. It is directly opposite the beach and stands out from the other hotels. The rooms and bathrooms are kept spotlessly clean and the bed is so comfortable. You get free breakfast, wifi and beach towels. All the staff go out of their way to make you feel special and welcome. In particular, Derek one of the team managers was an absolutely excellent host. He went that extra mile to make us comfortable. I picked this hotel because of the reviews and I am glad I did. The Beacon Hotel? What's not to like?
