Just recently stayed at The Beacon Hotel South Beach Miami for two nights from 3/31-4/2. Overall it was an ok stay. I have to say the staff was great, they were all very friendly, nice, & accommodating.

The good- Location!! Smack in the middle of everything The Beacon sits on Ocean Drive which is directly across the street from the beach. Also left to right of hotel is nothing but bars, restaurants, & nightclubs. Basically if your young or looking to party/being in mix of it all, then The Beacon is a great place... However,

The Bad- Price wise its a bit much, room was allot smaller than what i expected & from Layouts on web. Having paid for an Oceanfront at an higher price i really expected allot more. It was basically a room with an king size bed & tv, thats it. Bathroom was clean & nice but quit small also. It comes down to paying for location & thats it. The downfall about the location is again, this is party central, so if a good nights sleep is a top priority this might not be the place. Having a oceanfront room our window was out to the street where its non stop music, cars, & people. I think the good out weighs all of the bad at this hotel as you do get complimentary breakfast. My conclusion is that i would stay at this hotel again however only for the right price. Just seemed a bit to overpriced for me. Ive stayed in South Beach numerous times & this was probably the most i ever paid. Everything is a bit pricey in south beach & sometimes not worth it, as there are a few hotels that are overpriced rundown, hole-in-the-walls.

Greeting Mr. Hassan,

Thank you so much for taking the time and sharing your experience with us. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed our staffs service. We believe that our employees are our best asset and I will be sure to share good graces with them. We are also happy to hear that you enjoyed our location. You are right, we are in the heart of Miami Beach with the beach right in front of us and great establishments just a few walks away.

Being high season, we understand that the entire South Beach area's rates can be sometimes a bit high. This is because during the months of Dec-May, there are constant special events happening all around. We can assure you that our rates are competitive with those of other properties near us.

We are a boutique hotel build in the 1930's (as most hotels on the Ocean Drive strip). Our rooms sizes are about 400 sq ft, which is 100 ft more than the standard industry size for those types of rooms (300). But we like to think that this is part of our charm. We are constantly making renovation to all of our rooms and are always making sure they are up to date.

Thank you again for sharing your experience with us and we hope to see you sometime in the future. Even if it is just to say hello.

Kind Regards,

Alexis Espinosa

I've always stayed at the much larger hotels (Loews, Fountainbleau, National). Although they are great places to stay, I found my new go to spot in South Beach. The Beacon is a well run boutique hotel located at the perfect location on Ocean Drive. The staff is very professional and pleasant. Dmytro at the restaurant located out front will make sure your dining experience and your cocktails are perfect!

My husband and I stayed at the Beacon the night before our cruise last week. We originally looked for hotels right near the port, but moved our search to South Beach once we realized how close it was and that the rates for a good hotel near port and one on South Beach weren't all that different. The Beacon was one of the less expensive hotels available, although I don't know that I'd call it affordable. We chose the Beacon due to the price, proximity to the beach and art deco boutique style.
We received an email to check in the day before we arrived and were able to request a room preference (ie: ocean view, more spacious, quite). We requested a quite room, were assigned to room 406 and assured that our room would be ready after 3pm the following day. Upon arrival, the staff was very efficient and friendly. We were promptly assisted with our luggage to our room. The room was small but sufficient for our one night stay. We had a view of a rooftop but were more focused on being in a quite room. It was teal and white and looked just like the rooms shown on their website. We got our welcome mojito and were on the beach within 15 minutes! South Beach was more beautiful than I'd expected for being in such a populated area. Access was just across the street. There was a convenience store down a couple of blocks for those few forgotten items or souvenirs. Shopping was 1 block away and restaurants were plentiful. We had a relatively quite nights sleep (it was over spring break). The hotel was very clean, original and comfortable. My only suggestion would be for breakfast to start earlier for us early birds (it didn't start until 9). However, coffee and tea was offered until breakfast began.
We loved the Beacon and would love to visit again!

Room Tip: The ocean view rooms towards the front tend to be noisiest.

This is a nice, clean, affordable hotel location in the middle of South Beach. My only complaint would be the size of the rooms, but you won't find many hotels along South Beach that offer complimentary breakfast, beach chairs, towels, and bottled water.

Stayed here twice. Great price and location. The complimentary breakfast and beach chairs are bonuses. The rooms and bathrooms are small which is typical of SoBe hotels and the elevator is soooooo slow. But, can't beat staying on Ocean. Same block as Wet Willies.Happy Hour at the restaurant and bar are hard to beach. The staff is friendly. The Beacon is officially on my recommendation for great hotels in SoBe.

My fiancée and I stayed at The Beacon for three nights prior to a short cruise. We had an excellent stay. The hotel was clean and our room had a lovely view of Ocean Drive. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. We were greeted with a free mojito on arrival which went done very well-although it should be noted the restaurant/bar is not run by the hotel staff and the drinks our pricey outside happy hour-having said there the free at table service breakfast on the terrace was very good. The hotel is on Twitter and their social media man Christian is very good and keeping the feed up to date. We hope to come out again next February and look forward to utilising the newly refurbished roof terrace.

I just returned from a weekend visit to the Beacon South Beach in Miami. It has been a couple of years since I was there and I was very pleased to see that everything was as I remembered. The entire staff was helpful, friendly and responsive from the point of arrival to my departure. The room was exceptionally clean and the beds may be the most comfortable in the world. It would be difficult to find a better location if you want to be in the middle of everything that South Beach has to offer. I highly recommend the Beacon South Beach without hesitation.

Room Tip: The beach front views are exceptional.
