If you would like a nice, quiet stay in South Beach, then this beautiful Art Deco hotel is the place for you. I found the room to be clean and comfortable with the usual amenities - Stereo, TV, mini bar, internet access, and continental breakfast. The spa-like bathroom with the multi-jet steam shower is definitely unique from other hotels in the area.
You really don't need a car as everything is within walking distance: the beach, shopping, great restaurants, and all the action on Ocean drive.
For anything further, you can hop on the South Beach Local bus which stops nearly in front of the hotel.
Third street beach is just two blocks away, and after a day on the beach, the multi-jet steam shower is a special treat.
Having stayed on Ocean drive in the past, I appreciated being able to go there when I wanted, but return to the Hotel's relatively quiet neighborhood.
The wonderful staff was very attentive and recommended several great restaurants within blocks of the hotel.
All in all, I would definitely return and would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the South of Fifth area.

This is a lovely little hotel in south beach. I would recommend staying here as the hotel is in a much quieter area than most & yet it is within easy reach of the art deco hotels & beach front. A lot of the hotels on the beach front have bars/clubs attached to them so music is playing into the early hours which I imagine would be quite annoying. The staff were really friendly, there is a complimentary continental breakfast, parking is easy & there were always spaces available. There are a number of small restaurants just a block away which were really convenient when we arrived late at night. The beach is 2/3 blocks away. It also felt like a really safe area to walk about (although most of south beach is like this). The rooms were really comfortable with fantastic showers & there was also a safe/TV/CD player in our room. We opted for a Queen & there was ample room. Limited wardrobe space but we didn't find this a problem.

Did plenty of research on-line, booked the room way in advance, showed up with my confirmation in hand all excited about the "steam showers" and was told that the room that had been set aside for us was somehow still occupied and no other rooms were available. As a consolation, we got to stay at their "sister" hotel which was a 2-star disaster. If you want a guaranteed room during your vacation, I would steer clear of this place. Their little "error" ruined our weekend in Miami.

We stayed here for one night as we had to stopover in Miami and wanted to get a taste of South Beach.

The hotel was small and nicely laid out, decent sized bed, nicely furnished. Breakfast was fine and a decent size for a continental breakfast, but there only appeared to be one small table to have breakfast on - luckily there was just us there at the time. The staff were all friendly. The location is decent for the restaurants at the south end of Ocean Drive and the shops on Collins Avenue - just five minutes walk.

So far so good, but the big problem was the noise. The air-conditioning can only be described as industrial. It was like being on a plane. Maybe you can get away without using it overnight, but we couldn't.

Our room was at the front - facing onto Washington Avenue. Granted it's not the world's busiest street, but there are lorries and buses going up and down it, and the Art Deco buildings only have single-glazing, so it's still wakes you up at 6am (that is if the aircon's let you get to sleep).

All in all okay, but probably not the greatest value for money.

We just enjoyed a stay at the wonderful Hotel St Augustine in the South Beach portion of Miami Beach. The renovated Art Deco style hotel is charming. My favorite detail was the stair railing. The rooms were very clean and quiet. The spa H2O tolietries were so nice that I have ordered some for home. A lovely breakfast was served in the bar area. The location of the hotel is ideal . It is only a few short blocks to the beach and to many fine restaurants. The frequent 25 cent bus that whisks you up and down Washington Avenue stops right outside. What made staying at the Hotel St Augustine so special was William and his staff. They were friendly and so helpful in every way. It was like saying goodbye to good friends when we checked out .

A great hotel in a perfect location right in South Beach. This is the fourth time i have stayed here and i wouldnt think of staying any place else. I even have friends who live in the Miami area, but this hotel is comfortable and the staff so friendly and out going, why would i stay else where?
Located just a block or two from all the action they have easy in and out parking if you choose to drive. Everything that you could possible want to do is with in walking distance. There are many great and affordable restaurants just within a two block area. The
beach is only two blocks down the street, plus the hotel supplies large beach towels for those guests who need them.
Even though they are close to all the action the hotel is calm and quiet, the large comfortable sitting area on the front porch is a great place to relax with a drink and people watch or just lounge, around and read or talk with the fun and friendly hotel staff.

A very good continental breakfast is provided free of charge, plus they even set it up early if you are those types that like to get up and out early.

The St. Augustine has always been a perfect experience everytime i have stayed there. Fair prices, clean quiet rooms and an excellent staff.

What a delicious retreat! Romantic, yet trendy rooms. A hop, skip, and a jump to Ocean Avenue for high end shopping. Miles of glorious white sand beaches a block from your doorstep. Quiet and peaceful. Located in the best area for foodies. It has been 3 years in a row now! and we miss your staff already!
See you in the spring!
