Stayed at the Foutainebleau with some friends for a girls weekend. Overalll it was a good stay- the food was great (ate at Hakkasan, La Cote and Blade), good vibe, nice pool scene, comfy beds and a good dose of paparazzi. I would defintely go back with a group of people, but would not go back for a "romantic weekend" with my husband.

My only issues were the lack of service (if i am spending $500 for a room + service fee on everything, you can at least get my bags out of the car at the valet, fill my water/ask me if I'd like another drink at the restaurants) and being "nickeled and dimed" ($10 for the gym, $14 for chairs at the beach, $18 for umbrellas). I thought that the additional costs were a bit absurd considering the rooms weren't cheap. I expect to pay $15 for a cocktail at the pool at a place like this, but not for the chairs or for the service fee when customer service is a foreign word to the staff).

I would definitely go back and enjoyed my stay, but I know now that this hotel does not care about it's customer service and I will need a separate bank account for all of the "extra fees." The airlines must have taken lessons from the FB in charging for everything under the sun and eliminating customer service.

AMAZING to see what they've done w/ the place! On a prior trip, it was a little tired and drab the last time we passed by. Now it feels restored it the type of glory of the Goldfinger days in the 50s/60s ... but with a fresh modern twist. The rooms are a breath of fresh air: whites and turquoises and tans. Decor colors are continued poolside w/ the billowy cabanas (which we didn't rent - although many others did on Sat-Sun). Fun to feel the place come alive after a few days; it was pretty quiet Wed pm - Fri am. Very much worth staying north up here away from central South Beach; quick bus ride south to SOBE, quick cab ride back north after dinner. Then great bars and lounging once you get back.

Our only complaint: they do the typical resort style thing of nickeling and diming you a bit: everything adds up. But if you can just forget that part and enjoy your vacation, it's a great place to be.

This hotel was amazing! The spa was great, food excellent (went to Scarpetta and the sushi restuarant - blanking on the name). Staff very friendly. Loved the pool. LIV was fun as well. Can't wait to come back!!!!

My wife and i stayed at the Fontainebleau for 3 nights on our honeymoon after a fantastic but exhausting week at New York City. The hotel was more than we expected. We booked an oceanview room and they placed us on the 12th floor. We had a magnificent view of the ocean the pools, the towers and downtown. The room was spacious, the bathroom awesome and the i-mac really trendy and helpful. The beach was fantastic and since i am Greek i can tell you when a beach is really worth it. The staff was very helpful (a bit slow though, but what can you expect from such a big property ?) and the restaurants that we tried (Scarpetta, Vida, Hakkasan) was over the top. The prices seemed quite reasonable for such quality and i really cannot understand all the previous negative reviews. Ok the place is crowded and the cabanas expensive to rent but the daybeds were free of charge. Have you ever tried Europe on August ?
To sum up we had an excellent honeymoon, the hotel is faboulous and i would really recommend it to all. Can' t wait to go back !!!

Service is fundamental in the hospitality industry and this property clearly is mismanaged or chooses to ignore this vital component. I advise all travelers to think twice before making a reservation at this property. There are far better properties in Miami!

Stayed at the Fontainebleau last week at a very discounted, company secured rate of $199 a night. For this price it was fine. Nice, new rooms, flat screen tv and in-room computer. At time of check in my King Room was not available, so they put us in the Versaille Tower in a room with two queen beds. As a result my room was bigger than my colleague's, and quite a comfortable size. The only disappointments in the room was there was no bathtub, only a shower (for a luxury hotel this was very disappointing), and the balcony was very small, with no partitions so awkward to sit on if anyone else on your floor was outside. Couldn't get the wireless to work on my laptop, and after calling the hotel's IT department was told the problem was going to be elevated to a manager, and never heard back. Bed was amazingly soft and comfortable.

Lunch at the outdoor restaurant by the pool was good, but for $90 for two people, not excellent. Pools are lovely as is beach access. Not a very central location, with either a long walk or a cab ride to the more happening areas of Miami Beach. Overall I was happy with my stay, but if I had been paying the usual $280+ I would have been much more critical.
