“Absolutely stunning, the best service, the best hotel ever”
Reviewed June 3, 2009

What a Birthday celebration to remember! We had booked a room with a balcony and upon check in we were upgraded by the girl on the desk, she was lovely, I was asking for a room with the best view and room 1214 certainly gave us that! When we got to our room and looked out over the balcony, it was simply stunning, the resort, the beach (I could go on!) The pool and beach are a great day out, the staff can't do enough for you, and I highly recommed their pina colda or miami vice cocktail! We ate in the steak house restaruant - one of the best steaks I've had, we went to the nightclub LIV - expensive but fun! but honestly we left here to go and stay at the Ritz Carlton for the rest of our stay and we wish we hadn't, there is just no comparison in how the staff treat you, how they make you feel, the quality of the hotel and resort. And its not all skinny 18 year olds around the pool, we're in our 30's and we were some of the youngest people there, of all shapes and sizes. This is somewhere you have to go at least once in your lifetime, it is expensive, but I guess if you're in Miami you know that, and it is a little way up South Beach, (a 5 minute taxi down to Ocean Drive, 44 to 16th St) but I have travelled to many countries and stayed in many of the best hotels, this is by far the best so far - cannot recmommend enough. Hope you love it as much as me

They have thought of everything. The staff was second to none, everyone seems genuinely concerned that your having the best vacation ever. This truly was the best weekend away from our kids that we ever had. The only thing we did not like was having to leave Sunday morning, cant wait to go back! The staff at the beach and pool (particularly Yossi) were amazing.

Stayed at the Fontainebleau May 11-17. I worked as staff for a conference of about 1700 physicians. The hotel is beautiful--and the conference rate couldn't be beat. Pool scene lovely--most staff courteous and helpful, especially at pool and spa. However, housekeeping needs some work. COnstantly asking for more towels (it was just me) and never received fresh sheets or bathmat until I learned on the 4th night that I had to specifically request. I understand wanting to save on water by not washing sheets as frequently, but 4 nights seems like a bit much and it shouldn't be up to the guest to request service for such. Minibar charged me randomly (I never even opened it!) but the front desk took the charges off of the bill without a problem. one thing to know: the resort places a hold of $150 PER DAY in incidentals charges on your credit card. So I had a $900 hold on my credit card yet only charged under $100. This was fine for me, but beware if you are paying for your stay with a debit card as some of my colleagues were.

On the whole, I thought the hotel was beautiful and well appointed but expensive.

Hands down the best hotel on the beach. I lived in Miami for 3 years and nothing tops this place. The service is great, the rooms are brand new with your own Mac computer, and it's versatile. If you want the night scene you got the best club in the country right now at Liv, if you want family time at the pool they have about 5 to choose from, the spa, the 7 restaurants, and the list goes on and on...

From the moment we drove up, the staff was awesome. Our room was beautifully appointed and had magnificent views of the pool area and the ocean. The boardwalk is a great place to take an early morning walk and start the day. We had dinner at the steak house and the Italian restaurant and both were wonderful. The spa is state of the art - quiet and relaxing. Our overall experience was above and beyond our high expectations.

Stayed at Fontainebleau 23-31 May with two daughters (18 &16) ocenfront rooms lovely & spacious the beds & pillows just to die for like sleeping on a cloud. Was bit on edge after reading such negative reviews on hotel but it has been lovely experience. the staff couldn't be more polite & helpful. The restaurants are overpriced for the food but what you expect in this type of hotel - if you dont want to pay these prices you go into town. The pool & location lovely but when we come again we would choose a hotel closer in South Beach but there is nothing wrong with Fontainbleau. The blue bar area with chandeliers are amazing & lovely place to sip cocktails & people watch. Do not take any notice of the negatives that people have written here. We arrived at 3am very tired & were dealt with in a very professional, polite & kind manner & even escorted to room by Manager & security guard - only because late hour & hotel very busy as Memorial weekend.

I stayed with my wife, kids and parents for 4 days(3) rooms. Fantastic pool cabanas with flat screen TV's. Kid's had a blast at the pool! We stayed 20 years ago. What a difference! What a lobby! Great variety of restaurants..but a bit pricey. We don't go to clubs that much anymore...but let me tell you: Club Liv was a blast!

Enjoy it...and Liv it!
