My wife and I had two nights here prior to joining a cruise. Generally speaking the Shore Club is over priced in every respect however the staff were friendly and polite. We tried to find the "Sky Bar" but must have looked in the wrong place? Tables and seats in the bar area's should not be reserved for non-residents (or residents for that matter) which I found totally unacceptable.

My husband and I stayed at the Shore Club 3/8/05 to 31/15/05.
It was a fabulous time!
The lobby is beautiful and welcoming. The staff at the front desk were so friendly and helpful. The guy that got us checked in was named Brian and we had a nice talk with him while he did his thing. We arrived way early because of an early flight out of St. Louis and knew our room would not be ready so Brian kept our luggage and took our cell number so he could call us as soon as our room was ready.
We headed off to Mambo's for some lunch and a couple of starter drinks!
Our room was really nice. Great sheets!!
The bathroom is out of this world. A wall of glass seperates the shower and over-sized tub from the rest of the room.
The balcony looked out over the party area and then onto the ocean.
I will say, it is almost impossible to get a spot at the pool. Even going down at 9 a.m. all the chairs were reserved. We overheard a woman on the beach say she had reserved eight chairs at the pool but she never moved her rather large rear off the beach chair all day.
Oh well, who needs a pool when you have such a wonderful beach only steps away? The beach staff were very good. The minute you show up, they get chair covers and towells for you and send the girls over to take drink order. Please be aware that the prices are pretty high. The first day, we each had two frozen lemonades and our bill was $56. But, it's a vacation and when your paying this much for a room, you should be able to buy a drink. When you leave the beach, there's this guy at the gate to get back in that checks your card to make sure you are actually staying at the Shore Club. This keeps the locals from using the pool. (they could'nt if they wanted to there are not chairs left)
I had read that the rooms were loud. Well, yes they are but hey you came to a party place what did you expect? Take some ear plugs and be happy!
I think the loudest thing were the housekeeping ladies early in the morning. They would stand in the hall and talk loudly waiting for someone to leave so they could clean.
We had also read that people had thier bills all messed up with charges they had not made etc. Our bill was exactly correct.
The topless situation at the beach was not as it usually is. I am suspecting that it is because it is spring break and these young girls with the perky ones are afraid to let them out.
We have stayed at Roney Palace before they turned it into condos and then last year at the Tides. So, this is our third trip in 2 1/2 years.
We would stay here again but probably won't get the chance because they are going condos too.
Please don't turn all of South Beach into Condo City!!

We came up from St. Martin to go to the Design District to get some ideas for the expansion of our hotel. We decided to try a few different hotels to also get some ideas. We stayed our 1st night at The Tides and then our 2nd night at The Shore Club. We were not impressed at all and felt utterly ripped off in every respect. We hated the room. It is not stark in a cool minimalistic way... it is stark in a hospital way and like they were trying to save money. Not one piece of art on the wall and the floor which is supposedly some sort of mexican stone felt like dirty concrete under your feet. Bed frame was all rusty etc... When we checked in, the girl at the desk said that for an extra $125 we could get an upgrade so we could have a tub and a balcony... meanwhile we were already reserved at $550 per night. I was very hesitant but my husband wanted to go for it. Man were we disappointed when we walked in to the room. Remember we are in the business and a free upgrade when possible is no sweat on the hotels part. Anyhoo, dinner at Nobu was great for sure... breakfast at Ago was just so so. In my opinion, don't stay at The Shore Club unless you want super trendy, super expensive and don't plan on spending a lot of time in your room because it is not comfy. Do however stay at The Tides and cruise over to The Shore Club to dine at Nobu.

The Shore Club is a grand hotel. An amazing beach-front property with great pools, beach beds all over the property, unique rooms and truly a South Beach experience! However, it's one of the more expensive hotels in the U.S. They charge for most everything (including 1/2 day for a slightly late check-out). If $500-$850 per night hotels are comfortable for you, you can get a really unique room here on this party-property. The Skybar and Red Room are great 20-30 something clubs and your room key gets you in--even when they are full. And, if you are in your lower 40s, you can feel young at this place. Be prepared for $12-$15 drinks and huge weekend crowds. The restaurants are excellent. We had one of our best meals ever at Nobu, but the $300 dinner tab for 2 people would be a sticker shock for many people. The rooms are smaller than you might expect, but very funky-cool with nice amenities, a Sony Stereo and great views. Beware of low floors, unless you like to party til 2AM, because you can hear the music playing outside if you face the ocean. You will remember your experiece at the Shore Club and you will see some beautiful people, maybe even a star or two, but be prepared for the full South Beach experience.... and pricetag. That said, I still give it a thumbs up and would return--especially if I planned to party there at the Shore Club or nearby at Mynt or Delano.

This was by far one of the coolest hotels I've ever stayed in. The rooms have been decrorated in minimalist style and are very spacious. The bathroom was designed as a wet room and was amazing. The staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful, not at all intimidating. If I go back to Miami I would most definately stay here again. One word of warning though, avoid the independent electrical stores - even the ones in the malls. We got totally ripped off. Got charged $800 for a $300 camera from the electrical shop across from the hotel. The man refused to give us our money back once we found out we'd been conned.

Have now stayed at te Shore Club twice. As you can see by other reviews, folks either love the place or hate the place.
My wife and I are now in or 40's, and we like the upscale life. Not like we're wealthy of anything, but we do spend a far amount when on our 3 or 4 vacations per year.
Your enjoyment of the Shore Club will also depend on how much your paying them per night. The past two summers we have stayed their for $130 per night, far less than their normal $300 + rates. Due to this we could deal with the lack of service and rude workes at the Shore Club.
Let me put it like this... if you looking for Comfort, Eligance, Great Service, & Friendly people (staff & customers), then DO NOT stay at the Shore Club. Somehow in South Beach & at the Shore Club it's suppose to be Cool to be arogant and rude. And there is not much comfort to the rooms, other than a nice bathroom/shower combo, and comfortable beds. The rooms, and hotel hallways are the loudest that we have ever stayed in. Since the rooms floors and halls are all made from sandstone everthing echo's. You can hear folks talking down the hall even if you in your room and they are 50 yards away.
On the other hand, if your looking for pretty people (or strange people to watch in the hotel or at the pools), then you will love the Shore Club. If your offended by toplessness or bare skin, then avoid the Shore Club. Approx 35%- 45% of the females at the pool with be topless. And most of the Guys are wearing nothing but their marble sacks.
Also, if you looking to spend less than $10 for a drink, or less than $100 on dinner for two, avoid the Shore Club. Way expensive!
We stay there due to the Pools, the Beach, and the Pool environment... and becasue we got in for cheap. Lot's of foriegn clientel at the SHore Club as well... probably 60% are non US... most being from Europe.
Bottom line... it's all in what you looking for. Good Luck.

My two (mid twenties) sons and I arrived at the Shore Club for Christmas with high expectations - in general we were not let down. The reception staff, the pool, restaurant and bar staff were all absolutely top class. Yes , it is a pricey hotel, but any good hotel in South Beach charges the same and at least at the Shore Club, you feel you are getting something for your money! As to the rooms, well, they are spartan in a modern way and showing some sign of wear, but I did notice other rooms being renovated during our stay so I imagine this must be an ongoing strategy.
The main complaint for an ordinary holiday maker like myself, however, must be the evening noise, generated by the 5 bars in the hotel. Their licence is up to 2 am and, boy is it loud until then.....on the other hand I actually did a 2 am session one night and if that's why you visit Miami, this is the best place to be.
Finally, if you in are in Miami to catch some rays, the pools and beach facilities are especially well run. The Shore Club is clearly not setting out to be a conventional seaside family hotel( although there were many families there at the time) but it is modern, hip, brash and fun and has adequate services to justify its prices.
