Stayed 2 Nights.

LOCATION: Could not be much better. Perfectly located in the middle of SoBe (for the best & the worst..). The room given to us was on top of a Latino club, given the bad quality windows - we felt on the dance floor until early morning.

HOTEL / Premises:This is a old property redesigned as a Boutique Hype Hotel. Unfortunately, despite all the efforts, space is not extensible & one could practically not cross in corridors, particularly the inexistent (in all ways) reception.

ROOM: Not enough light & dark (Purposely done to hide the not perfect cleaned floor, sofa & furnitures. There was way too much dust all over. Unlike others, we luckily did not suffer from the termites invasion in our room (did I miss something?). The grey (born white) sofa was tainted & dirty but I liked the small glass table (not stable at all unfortunately) & designer chairs. A large TV & a good looking kitchen (absolutely useless for cooking!) added some coziness to the place.

POOL AREA: Very dirty. Beer was all over furniture & lots of empty cans all over still at mid-morning, this is not your usual South Beach pool area.

PERKS: The free bus to/from the airport with your reservation is a real plus but mind asking (and booking) in advance at the reception. HAPPY HOURS: While 2-3 different drinks from the menu were free, both the service & the drinks were of poor quality and served in plastic cups ! (sic) - Nice try to gather crowd at the Group's of hotels bars...but once caught, never again.

OVERALL: Very average 2 to 3 stars hostel but certainly far from a 4 stars experience. Very overpriced if not booked with a hotwire or priceline. However, great location for those willing to enjoy SoBe nightlife, beware - its very noisy at nights & not a place to get pampered by the staff.

At $300 per night, the room was a good value. We got a two-room suite with beautiful kitchen, king-size bed, and queen-size sofa bed. And perfect location on Collins just a 60-second walk from Ocean Drive.

The plumbing was poor, however. Our toilet wouldn't flush properly (which is gross) and we had to call maintenance. No, we didn't put extra toilet paper down the toilet; it just has very weak water pressure. The water from the shower head was not very hot.

The guy at the front desk at night is a lot of fun to chat with.

Took the free shuttle from the Miami Airport so we didn't rent a car! Very nice driver. Got to the hotel a little early but they stored our luggage and told us that they had upgraded us. We walked down Ocean Dr. and that was fun. When we got back and checked in, our room was a 2 bdrm. suite complete w/kitchen! Very nice room and 3 big TV's! We made coffee the next morning but had to walk about 1/2 block for a nice Cuban breakfast! They do not have a "happy hour" but told us where to go to their "sister" hotel.

Room Tip: It was quiet!

Very dirty! There were stains on the comforter. When we turned on the sink, tiny tan bugs came out! When we reported this to the manager, there was no empathy. He coldly announced, "Well, you're not gonna get your money back." Really? Dude, we WERE just going to ask for another room...So we just cut our losses and went to another hotel.

Naima,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am sorry for any inconvience you may have received during your stay in June. Would you be able to provide me with the name of the employee you dealt with during your stay? I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you,

We were only in Miami for one night and wanted somewhere cheap and cheerful as we went out clubbing most of the night!
The metropole is situated on Collins Avenue and is in a great location!!! Ocean drive is just a 2 min walk away as is the famous south beach!!! Also near the apartments are great shops and also plenty of places to eat!

The downside to the metropole! We were charged for using the mini bar which we never used as there was a Walgreens about a 2 min walk away! They charged us $29 and we only noticed this on return to the uk! They were reluctant to give This back to us, however, 2 weeks after perusing this we managed to get the money back!

Next; the hotel charges $32 a night for valet parking as it states there is nowhere near by to park your car, however, we found a car park a bit further down the road on the right which looked secure and was a lot cheaper!

Lastly, it took about half an hour to check in as we were waiting for someone to come to the desk! Other than that we found the staff to be quite helpful and friendly and recommended places to eat an drink :)

Overall we can't complain to much because we only paid £65 for the night compared to some of the beach front hotels which charge about £150 a night!!!

Would recommend apartments to the young ones!

Thank you for posting a review of the Metropole. Thank you for providing other readers with information regarding parking. There are several parking lots located in different areas of south beach. The Valet Parking provided is optional and provided for the convenience of our guests. I am glad to hear that you had a great stay and hope that you will stay with us again in the future.

Thank you,
