The design and build out of the 1 Hotel are amazing. Some of the most gorgeous I have ever seen. Rooms are very large, and the entire property feels chic and ultra luxurious. The staff is a mess. Many did not know what to do, or didn't execute their jobs correctly. Attempting to reserve a cabana took 4 emails and 4 phone calls, but when we arrived, surprise, our reservation had been lost. A new hire Jillian did handle the problem very well once we arrived, but who has ever heard of a resort where you can't book a cabana through the concierge?! Also, we did not receive our Centurion breakfast credits at check in, and had to revisit the front desk and argue with the attendant who insisted we had. Then the server in Beachcraft forgot to apply them to our check, all after they made us wait 20 minutes for a table even though 70% of the tables were vacant. Also, the handle to our balcony door and to our hot water both came off in our hands. And the hi tech phone system didn't work and had to be replaced. Karim the bell man, Jillian, and the cabana servers were great. Otherwise the property has a lot of staff and facilities issues to work out before guests can have a seamless experience.

We searched for the right place to celebrate 25 years together on our life journey, the choice of sun, sand, & surf was Miami beach, close to South Beach, and we found it!! We have see many other parts of this great state, and have heard much about South Beach! Enough to peak our interest into going, and search out a hotel to meet, maybe exceed our needs. Upon a late arrival, at midnight, the staff was very accommodating in trying to set us up, we had some issues with the smart, green friendly set up of no paper or brochures in the hotel room. Ingenious in terms of saving a tree, and us eventually, but a little frustrating to get anything without the device working. We spent an awesome day at the beach with multiple staff to exceed our expectations of service, Jared, Eric, Axel, and Richard made us welcome not only as guests, but friends with explanations, details and inside info on the South Beach scene! After the beach our saviours showed up, Ermes Garcia, and Ivan Alayom from engineering! They connected the smart device and within 5 minutes the elegant maid showed up to tidy the room, extra hangers and a fresh bucket of ice! It erased any distain or frustration from our minds! So pleased we headed straight for the roof top pool bar, awesome views, to watch the setting sun on what was an unforgettable day 1 in paradise, South Beach style, made real at 1 Hotel South Beach! Keep up the great work, effort, and service dedication, it pays dividends!

Room Tip: King Bed with Balcony is awesome, with views of ocean!

Special thanks to Rajneel Conhyea for going the extra mile to make our stay as wonderful as it was. If you are use to luxury, you are in for a special event. Excellent ambience decor and service was top notch. Beach Craft restaurant was the highlight of our stay if you are a "foodie" you will be mesmerized by the quality of ingredients and attention to detail.A simple Huevos Rancheros will never be the same for me again. Douglas was an excellent server very knowledgeable and just a great person to talk too. Our ocean front view was beautifully put together very spacious. The only rooftop pool in south beach definitely breath taking... was marvelous. The lap jacuzzi really caught our eyes being the largest. The four pools and private cabannas are incredible use of beetle kill wood. Through out the hotel decor is astonishing from the lobby to the rooftop. I'm sure many hotels will have no choice than to try and follow their footsteps. As soon as you receive your wooden hotel key, you know you are in for an organic eco minded experience. Ms. GOBIN

Hard review to write. Beautiful hotel. The lobby, pools and our hotel room were all very nice and extra large for South Beach. Main pool and deck may be the best in South Beach currently. Beach setup also very nice.

Unfortunately the customer service is inconsistent. We are a 30 year old couple and not generally high maintenance travelers but we were frustrated by the lack of consistent service, whether pool side, housekeeping/turn down service or the in-room "eco friendly" technology controls. Numerous calls and messages to guest services for minor issues and requests went unanswered or unattended to. Basic example: getting an umbrella at the pool required speaking to 4 or 5 employees. Employees may act like they will go out of the way to serve all your needs when this is really not the case. Dani at the pool was great. Others were very spotty. I think this lack of consistent service is a problem in Miami given the young and often foreign employees. Not on par with 4-5 star hotels in NYC, San Fran, LA or abroad.

We will say the food at the pool was impressive and generally not overpriced and the lobby Colicchio restaurant served a nice breakfast. We may try the Edition or the Ritz next time. Hopefully the service here can catch up to the 4-5 star physical features in the meantime. I easily would've given this hotel 4 stars had we not had so many issues with lack of room cleaning/turn down service each day/night. If getting toothpaste or ice takes 5-15 minutes, why should we wait over 4 hours (until midnight) for turn down service and fresh towels?

PS Ali at the front desk was very helpful.

Not sure where to begin, this has got to be the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The Staff is overly friendly and polite. The lobby is beautifully designed with its ambient lighting and the place smells great. Little things have proven to make the biggest and best experience.

It seems the theme around the whole property is all about being environmentally friendly. From the plant decor to the room keys chips (which resemble recycled wooden pogs.)

The place looks great, smells great, and even has greater service. The thing that separates this from hotels is its technology and customer service:

The technology: Sometimes the only thing you want to do when at a hotel is move less and relax more, well the hotel incorporates a single cellphone (NEXUS phone) in each part of your room as a 'field guide.'

This nifty gadget is very simple to use and can do just about everything, from calling valet to have your car ready, changing the channel on your tv, CHANGING THE THERMOSTAT, room service, weather, housekeeping, etc. it is a REALLY convenient and great feature.

Customer service:one thing i noticed on my stay is whenever something is requested to the room, whether it is food, blankets, or pillows, a follow up call is ALWAYS done a few mins after just for confirmation. Little things like this always helps the experience go much smoothly.

Highly recommended, A+ all around. This will be my go to hotel If I am to ever stay in Miami Beach.

Room Tip: Get a higher floor, best views.
