My wife and I picked The Edition hotel for a 'stay-cation´ over labor day weekend with several other couples and our teenage daughters. We were delighted with our choice. The hotel service was impeccable. The staff at the beach - Sebastian and Igor in particular - were constantly attentive to our needs and made the weekend so enjoyable. The food at both the Market and Matador restaurants was excellent, so if you are here for a short trip, There is no need to venture out of the hotel to eat at all. Our daughters had a terrific time between the pool, the beach, and as a bonus the bowling alley and ice skating rink in the basement. In the evenings the latter two become part of a fun nightclub for the adults in the group - also very popular with the local crowd. The hotel decor is clean, modern and comfortable, yet respectful to its legacy Art Deco architecture.
There were only two things which I though the hotel could improve upon. One was that the walls between the rooms could use a bit more sound insulation, as we could hear the neighbor's phone rings in the morning. The other one was that upon check in the front desk attendant refused to credit my Marriott Rewards account for the stay because my wife had made the reservation on our behalf, which I find unacceptable and a first at a hotel in my frequent travels. I will ask to speak to the hotel manager before checkout today to address this.
