“good hotel overall but nothing really outstanding.”
Reviewed November 5, 2010

Booked Anglers after reading the many positive comments on tripadvisor but was somewhat disappointed. Not that the experience was bad, on contrary, but not impressed with the hotel facilities nor the service wich is fine (from very good to average) but not outstanding. Hotel and rooms are quite confy and well equipped but letdown by "three-stars" feeling in some areas such as the bathroom and some public areas. Again, given the price, the hotel somewhat lacks luxury or charm although this is subjective.
The hotel location is good but no sea view, and rooms are quiet (but AC very loud).
Again, this hotel is fine with good customer service but value is average and you can find in Sobe for just some more bucks (or when promotions) better deals for upscale and charming hotels (such as the tides).

Dear patricesantiago,
Thank you for choosing The Angler's during your stay in South Beach. We are sorry that you did not experience value for the price paid at our hotel and left with anything less than a positive experience. We are a luxury hotel with highly personalized service and strive to integrate and respond to all of our guests needs.
If you would be so kind as to share your feedback about the bathrooms and public areas as you mentioned, I would be most appreciative. You can reach me at karen@theanglersresort.com
Thank you once again and I look forward to hearing from you.
Warm regards,
Karen Brown

My fiance and I decided to book Anglers on a whim and we are very happy with out decision! We were immediately greeted upon arrival and taken directly to our room. We noticed that the room was much nicer than expected, only to be told we had been upgraded free of charge! The room was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel provided a great continental breakfast as well as free towels and bag for the beach. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Great find especially for south beach. We will definitely stay here again!!!

The Angler's is the perfect place to go to when you are looking for class and luxury without paying the usual ridiculous rates. Don't get me wrong, the Angler's isn't cheap, but there is hardly a place where you get more for your money (and, no, you don't have to spend a fortune).
The rooms are spacious, furnished and equipped with great love for detail, style, and class.
The staff is very (!) friendly and helpful, making your stay (and we stayed two times within 3 weeks) very special.
Bar and restaurant provide you with culinary pleasures, making it almost impossible to not coming back (and yes, we will)...!
Well, what is the downside? It is "second row", i.e. not on Ocean Dr. -- if you can live with that: there is no better place.

We chose this hotel based on reviews, as we wanted a nice hotel in Miami beach, that was quiet. We were not disappointed !
Check in was a breeze, we were welcomed like royalty. No need to go to the counter, a charming lady welcomed us and led us to our duplex, and the check in was made directly there.
The duplex was great : modern, neat, nice accomadations like the sound system (my husband liked that one !). It felt very comfortable. We appreciated the great service : personalised cards, the weather forecast put on your pillow each night, the complimentary wine glass...
The location was perfect for us : very quiet at night, close to the beach, and close enough to the restaurants also. We enjoyed our 3 days stays a lot.
There is no doubt that if we ever go to Miami beach again, we will definitely go back there.

I read the reviews about the hotel and it sounded great. Everything at the hotel lived up to the review. My King Suite room was clean and bright. The room decor was gorgeous. Karen, the GM, and her staff went above and aboard to insure I had a great stay. I was traveling alone and it felt more like staying with family than at a hotel. The chef of the 606 restaurant is truly gifted. It was one of the best meals I have had in a long time (and my standard of comparison are NY's top restaurants - Batali, Boulud, Bobby Flay, etc.). Don't miss this hotel or its talented chef on your next trip to South Beach.

Dear EJTA-
Wow thank you for your positive review the hotel, staff and of course our Chef Giorgio and 660 restaurant! We are thrilled you loved your room and overall stay with us. Your review as a solo business traveler means alot to us as we understand how tough it can be on the road away from home and family. We are happy you felt at home with us and look forward to having you back again - bring the kids next time! :-)
Thank again for taking the time to write about us - we wish you happy and safe travels.

Just thought I would take the time to enter a review since it was the reviews that made me want to stay here. Very lovely charming hotel, staff was incredibly nice and accomodating.. After staying at a larger hotel one night, it was nice to check in to the boutique. Only thing that is a little concerning is the lack of latches on the doors, so the housekeeping staff can be a bit scary walking in on you while you are on the second level napping..:-) but they mean well just there to make sure you are comfy.. Love the 2 times a day housekeeping,, it was a really nice touch.. unfortunately despite all the lovely reviews of the restaurant, my cobb salad wasn't tasty at all but the chicken sandwich esp the fries that my bf had were good! Overall I will still stay again, loved my suite, loved the spiral staircase.. Perfect continental breakfast with the best granola ever.. fresh squeezed orange juice!! Pleasant.

Dear Divanaire,
Thank you for your positive review and for taking the time to write. We are glad that you enjoyed our unique boutique hotel experience. I apologize about the housekeeping staffs intrusiveness, we recommend, no matter where you travel, to always double lock your doors while in a room. Our rooms have a card key lock and a deadbolt as well for extra security. Thank you for your comments though as we will share with the staff - and again my apology for that. The same goes for your salad, we don't like to have guests leave with anything less than a great experience. We hope we are able to make it up to you on your next visit with us, please feel free to contact me personally to make your reservation as it will be my pleasure to assist you.
Thank you again for writing and safe travels,
Warm regards, Karen

This was my first stay in South Beach area. I loved the location....just a short walk to the beach and away from all the foot traffic of Collins and Ocean Ave. I have stayed in many hotels from The Four Seasons in various cities to Wynn in Las Vegas and other small boutique hotels but I have to say that I enjoyed The Angler's so much more. The staff was friendly but not encroaching. My room was amazing! It had a sundeck on the 3rd floor and the nice touches like a beach bag with waters and towels made me feel like I was a guest at someone's villa rather than a hotel. The gym pass is also great since there is not a gym on the grounds. I can't wait to go back!!
