“Perfect South Beach location if....”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

you want to be close to all the action yet escape the madness of Ocean Drive.

Arrived sunday evening after a long haul flight we were shown a Tower Duplex Queen room on the 4th floor. The duplex look a bit tired, stains on the sofa & litter underneath the coffee table reflected badly on the accomodation.

After speaking to Amber who had shown us to the room we were upgraded to a Tower Duplex King room (116) with spa, well what a difference - immaculately clean & welcoming for our 8 night stay.

The duplex had almost everything one could wish for, with the following exceptions - a full length mirror in the bedroom (a must for my better half), there is plenty of space at the top of the stairs for this; & a make up mirror at the desk in the bedroom (we bought a little mirror at Walgreens).

The spa was a real boon as it took away the aches & pains of a day's sightseeing, I didn't feel exposed to passing traffic despite being next to a main walkway.

Ocean Drive & Collins Ave are literally a minutes walk away so you don't have to miss out on the nightlife yet can easily escape to back to the tranquilty of the hotel.

The Angler's was absolutely perfect for us as we choose not to drive, you can catch local & tour buses right outside the hotel - so convenient.

Room Tip: Room 116 is far enough away from the a/c units so as not to be a bother (low level drone you get use...

We arrived at 2am and Alvaro was most welcoming. Valet parking is $29 but at that time of day I could not have cared less, Our room was in the tower overlooking an unused car park (room
312). Staff were always polite and helpful, recommending places for breakfast along the beach front and booking a tour of Miami for us. Room was spacious and clean and the hotel is a couple of blocks away from the beach front which we preferred, Certainly seemed quieter in the evenings. We didn't eat at the hotel so cannot comment. Overall, this is what I would expect from a hotel for the price paid.

So I booked this hotel because they were offering a Florida Resident discount with free parking. Got an upgraded 2 story suite with a hot tub.
When we got there were quickly greeted and brought to our room from the curb rather than going to the front desk. They had an in-room check in which was nice. Were given a little packed with maps, local info and free wi-fi access info.
First of all the room was rather large for being in South Beach. It has 1+1/2 bath which was really nice. The furniture was a bit dated but still inviting. The most important thing is the comfort of the bed. The bedding was soft and comfortable along with the bed. No bathtub which made for a large shower which is great.
The hot tub was outside the room even though it was just ours for the night it wasn't 100% private - people walking by and up on the balconies overlooking the hot tub. Not a big deal though.
Valet Service was the car was pretty fast - about 5-10 minutes to get you car back.
We had 2 mixed drinks as we went to bed and they were $28.50 which I thought was rather expensive and we would not have bought them had we known the price.
We would stay here again -- the staff was great, the room was pretty clean (bed was very clean) and the location cannot be beat - can walk anywhere in South Beach from here.
The A/C worked all night and managed to keep up with the Florida heat. Has a fan setting and the vent in the loft section hits the bed which was nice to keep up cool.

Room Tip: Park your car for the entire trip and just walk everywhere. Traffic is horrible in South Beach - so...

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in September we stayed in one of the studio rooms which was amazing the decor and faculties were first class including ice left in our rooms each evening for our drinks.
It's only 2 blocks from the beach and all the action
I would definitely recommend the breakfast there's a great choice and the option to upgrade if you only book with the continental

The staff were more than helpful and made us feel so welcome this is a fabulous intimate place to stay instead of the huge hotels

If you like a pool this wouldn't be a place for you as it's extremely small and shaded by the surrounding buildings

Definitely try the italian restaurant on the opposite side of the road (corner of 7th) the food is out of this world in particular mamas meatballs

My girlfriend and I stayed at this great boutique hotel that's located in the heart of South Beach. The staff are helpful and made our stay such a great experience. We stayed at a standard room facing the carpark side and it was big enough for the two of us. Room is stocked with a minibar and snack. The location is close to the happening places; good restaurants, two blocks away from the beach and 5 minutes walking from Lincoln rd. The restaurant has good food but keep in mind its a little expensive with small portions. I will go back here and would recommend that you stay.

We stayed here in February on honeymoon - what a fantastic place!
I have to admit I wasn't sure if a boutique hotel in Miami would be what we were after but after taking the time to choosing between here and The Fontainebleau, The Anglers Boutique Resort won and we were not disappointed!
We arrived to be escorted to our room where we found petals layed out on our bed in a heart shape (so romantic)!! The room was lovely, provided everything we needed with the most comfortable bed ever!
We couldn't have asked for better service. The staff were not only helpful but experienced, knowledgeable and could not do enough for us. We were so well looked after. There were a couple of times where our air con was leaking, within minutes someone was up to assist us.
We ate in the restuarant a couple of times, once for breakfast and another for dinner. Both times the service was great and the food was wonderful.
At the weekend the hotel becomes a trendy dining experience, a quick turnaround in set up and a DJ on the decks playing background beats and it was a fab relaxed and cool enviroment.
I cannot recommend this hotel enough. If you are looking for a relaxed, comfortable, stylish stay in a central location, don't look any further!

We arrived the day before the storm Isaac and everything went sooo smoothly. First we asked for a different room with 2 beds and they said no problem. The service was impeccable, and never was without what we asked for during our 5 day stay. Also loved the ambiance of the 1930's newly decorated hotel. I can't say enough good about our stay and I'm going back again when I attend my next class with Sassoon. I'm looking forward to another great expierence.

Room Tip: Our room faced the pool are and it was perfect on the second floor.

Thank you for recently being our valued guest and taking the time to review us!

We miss you ladies very much! We enjoyed your company through our tropical storm and I was very proud of how well the team took care of you in difficult circumstances. Hopefully, upon your next visit, the weather works with you and you don't need to spend part of your visit playing board games due to the inclement weather.

We look forward to welcoming you home again soon!
