I had a good time there. The hotel seemed like it was mostly for flight attendants and pilots! I went on a Friday night and it was gorgeous in Miami. The hotel bar was boring. The bartender spent most if her time watching tv. The drinks were cheap though! :-) the room was nice but the view sucked because there was construction with a huge crane outside my room! The beach was amazing! The airport is a long long way from the airport! It was a pretty good stay! Lots of restaurants and bars in walking distance :-) FYI never use Prestige shuttle company. Rude and late. 45 mins late to be exact!

The lobby of this hotel is still the original, like something out of a Humphrey Bogart movie, but the rooms have all been renovated and are very comfortable now!! The hotel is located right on the beach with it's own restaurant. Lots of shopping nearby and local haunts for those who want to enjoy the local people, food and drinks!

Definately an older hotel, but the location and access to everything is great. We didn't spend too much time in our room, so the shabby dark interior and small quarters didn't bother us. The pool is great (and the beers) and the access directly out onto the beach was pleasant. The breakfast was decent.

This is currently a crew hotel that must have had its golden years 30-40 years ago. The rooms are old and not very comfortable but the location right on the beach with a good swimming pool makes it a reasonable choice. The breakfast is standard.

-dark, dark lobby, like a flashback in the thirties
-awful smell all over the place, can't tell what it is, old oil or grease, mixed with humidity?
-though some rooms received a makeup, it was a really modest and cheap one
-absolutely NO place in the tiny bathroom to put your stuff, not even space for a toothbrush as there is no shelf
-the elevators should be retired in a museum but definitely not lift people, it takes long until one shows up, doesnt't feel like a particularly safe ride. The only time I got stuck in an elevator was HERE!
-breakfast, though free, is a joke, only coffee and tea, bagels, white flour bread, margarine, peanut butter and jelly. Omelettes and juice has to be paid for.
-Free WiFi, but coverage is nonsense. Expect a very weak signal, probably you won't be able to hook up, especially on higher floors.
-the fridge in the room rattles like an old car, you'd rather turn it off.
-Air conditioning: noisy and just above freezing point, serious. Even when turned off, ice cold air still flows out of the pipes. Bearable only when the tiny window towards the pool is left open all day long.
-pool ok, but get up just after sunrise if you want one of the few pool chairs.

and last but not least: I can't remember having a warm/hot shower there. Water heating capacity is a desaster, especially painful on a cool, rainy day.

This is the "hotel" that gets most of all the complaints in our whole company network. Obviously the price must be right. Awful place to land after an 11 hours transatlantic trip.
MIA is very unpopular with us just because of this place.

I stayed here during a business trip. We found that parking was available but not at the hotel. You park just over one block away in an open car park, which takes about 7 minutes to walk. The hotel check-in area gives a reasonably good impression of a good hotel but, when you step into the elevator and out into the bedroom corridors, you quickly realize it is not so good. There is a small cafe where breakfast is provided, generally free if you only intend to have cereal, tea or coffee, and toast or bagels. Everything is served on polystyrene plates and cups, with plastic cutlery. If you desire orange juice, be prepared to part with cash. Same for anything cooked. The best part for me was that the rooms were quiet - if you did not use the air conditioner. The hotel is used extensively by airline crews, who are arriving and departing all day and night, thus the need for silence. The beach is very convenient, being about 10 yards from the hotel. The bedroom was very basic. On two days within one week, the room was not serviced. There are several good restaurants within a short walk. The gym in lower lobby is quite well stocked, and the pool area is quite pleasant.
