A rather boring experience awaits you at the World Erotic Art Museum in Miami Beach. Owner Naomi Wilzig promises the World's greatest collection...but sadly it all comes across as a little hobby that got out of hand. It just wasn't sexy.

This seemed more like a garage sale of erotic art than a museum. It's someone's personal collection of mostly amateur pieces of questionable origin. Kind of chinsey and not a lot of historical value (few pieces were dated before th 1900's). You might consider spending your $15 elsewhere.

This place is a trip. If I had known it was so large, I would have paced myself very differently than I did. There is literally room after room after room of objets d’art, not sleazy sex toys as some might imagine. Maybe it was my imagination, I’m not sure, but it seemed as if the exhibits became more and more exotic as we went along, so you might want to go faster at the beginning and save some energy for the 2nd half of the museum. This is a serious art collection displaying erotic art throughout time. There are paintings, sculptures, and jewelry, ranging from 1 A.D. to 21st century items, all collected, we were told, over 16 years, by the Jewish grandmother/owner. Plan to spend a couple of hours here. If you don’t, you aren't getting your money’s worth.

This museum is an interesting place that is worth a visit if you are not too sensitive to explicit images.

It's pretty much what is sounds like - Erotic Art.

Paintings, Sculptures and more fill this decent sized space which takes about 30 minuted to 1.5 hours to go through depending on how much time you spend at individual exibits.

It features unknown artists and famous ones alike - including Picasso! The website is R rated - however the artwork within the gallery is definitely X-rated.

The museum is on Washington and 12th - so its very close to Ocean Drive and the other main attractions in Miami. I happen to come across it on my way back to our Hotel on Collins. Though I heard about it before.

It's a great little stop for any art buff or anyone who likes to see something original and different. It certainly is not for anyone who is offended by graphics images, but again, is a great thing to do to get into the Miami liberal, open-minded vibe.
