“take picnic, free outdoor area”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2013

we paid the price and sat in the concert hall for a wonderful concert. We wanted to enjoy the architecture and intimacy of the space and were glad we could do that. But it was so inviting to walk thru the outdoor lawn seating area in front of huge TV screen. People had their own lawn chairs and /or blankets and looked so comfy among the palm trees on a gorgeous starry night!

We are so glad that you had such a great time, both inside the New World Symphony AND outside! The outside concerts are referred to as "Wallcasts" and cameras within the symphony hall project what is going on inside the hall in real time through high density cameras onto the 7,000 sq. ft. exterior wall. It is truly a wonderful way to experience music, as you say, among the palms and under the stars. Check the performance schedule on our web site and when a performance is indicated to be 'wallcasted' you know you can watch outside - for FREE! On Wednesdays nights, the City iof Miami Beach also projects family-friendly films on the outside wall, and that is yet another opportunity to bring the family, a picnic and enjoy the best that MiamI Beach as to offer. Hope to see you again soon!

“A work of art”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2013

If you want to listen to unusual music in a work of art, visit the NWS. It is our latest building and our pride and joy. Just walk the grounds, listen to a free concert projected on the big wall or if you are lucky to get a ticket, go inside and listen to a concert. Highly recommended.

“Strange performance”

Went to a percussion concert expecting to hear a lot of drums - instead they had blocks, triagles, cymbals, and everything but drums. The organist was excellent. It was a strange performance.

“Fascinating building and concert!”

The concept of an indoor concert broadcast live with video projection in the park outside the door is brilliant!
