We couldnt find the restaurant a friend suggested so we ended up here. We were a table of 5, 3 adults & 2 kids....we ordered 3 mojitos ($75) almost passed out when the bill came; 2 soft drinks for the kids at $6 each!!!! Our bill was $260! We order pastas and simple dishes which I have to say were fantastic but way over priced. Thats Miami beach for you. Never again!

Thank goodness I didn't happen to read most of the reviews before trying the Rendezvous. On a trip to Miami the week before Thanksgiving we didn't have dinner plans so we just walked down Ocean drive and were accosted by someone from each of the restaurants we passed trying all sorts of gimmicks to get us to dine there. When we passed the Rendezvous a nice young man, Adam, asked us to come and dine in the restaurant and even though they were offering 50% off drinks Adam promised us free drinks if we would eat there so he could be our server. We did and our food was excellent. The crab cake appetizer was delicious. We had the scallops and the crab ravioli main courses and the Lava cake for dessert. All were wonderful. The service was perfect. We never had to ask for anything. If Adam even thought we may want something it immediately appeared at our table. The Mojitos were very good and were indeed free. With the built in gratuity our bill totaled $125 for two people. That amount included an appetizer, 2 entrees and a shared dessert with coffee. The food quality was great. The service was perfect so all in all we thought it was worth the money and would certainly recommend anyone visiting the area try it. Look at the menu and prices before dining. It is posted at the entrance to the restaurant for everyone to see. If you can't afford a nice meal then try elsewhere (maybe Denny's is more your speed) but if you don't mind dropping a little over $100 for two people for dinner then give it a go we think it is worth it.

This was our first night in South Beach, we stayed in the Beacon Hotel where the service, staff and amentities were all phenominal. The problem was with the restaraunt attached to hotel but not affiliated with. With it being our first night in South Beach we were walking out to go eat elsewhere, but because of the rain we were pursuaded by a charming and attractive man to sit and dine at the Rendezvous restaraunt as it was conveniently attached to the hotel. He then came around with display plates of the specials, but with no prices attached. (Of course we should of asked for the prices, but after glancing through the menu we assumed the specials were reasonably priced as the menu was).
Bottom line is, the seafood was not fresh and it was something similar to Captain Highlander frozen fish sticks. The meal was cold and the seafood was rubbery. The bill came to $322 and we did not even order any alcohol or drinks. After letting our server know that we were unsatisfied with the food and to show we did not eat it we sent it back to the kitchen. We asked to speak to the manager to voice our disatisfaction, when we were greeted by the restaraunt owner threatening to call the police, and then persisted to follow us out of the restaraunt and infront of a crowd of people call us cheap. EVEN THOUGH DESPITE OUR DISATISFACTION WE PAID THE ENTIRE AMOUNT OF $322 for a meal we sent back to the kitchen.
Stay away from this SHAM of an establishment and DO NOT EAT HERE, they will hustle your money and treat your like a second class citizen.
