Glad to see that the Palace is still rocking.
This place has to have been a fixture at 12th and Ocean for nearly 20 years.

This is a great place to stop by mid-afternoon to early evening for drinks. (Alas, I didn't eat anything here this time)

Lending to the success is the long-time bartender Ray. Also glad to see that Brandon (from the Palace Boys) is still working there.

Reasonably priced drinks with daily and happy hour specials.Visa accepted. ATM on site.

Entertaining drag shows some evenings. Plenty of security prevents any rowdiness. Their busy night is Sunday, starting with an afternoon dance in the big room.

This is just an excellent place to unwind, meet people from all over the world, or just people-watch as the crowd moves past along Ocean Blvd.

We first went to this place in Dec. 2011. We returned tonight. We had the Miami Vice drinks and salads. We enjoyed the drinks and the food. The main reason my wife and I went to this place was for the drag queen show. It was awesome. The show is funny, sexy and hot all at the same time.

I arrived alone waiting for friends. The bartender EXTREMELY rude like I was an inconvenience to him. Drinks were not badly priced but was definitely south beach priced. Met some interesting people while waiting for my friends. Once my friends arrived they waited several minutes before being served. I will go back because the shows are fun but wont go back for the oh so friendly staff.

Where do i start as not much really went well for us. We had a party of 7 all paying $169 + 20% gratuity per person for a three course meal and a bottle of champagne between two. Apparently we had paid for platinum so you would hope for a fairly good service. The entertainment for the night was some drag acts which weren't too bad but had quite a few technical problems threw the night. Our main problem for the entertainment was where we were seated as we were put on the balcony part In front of the bar. First off where we were was directly in front of the speakers so none of us could communicate threw any of the evening and by the end a few we're suffering with ringing ears. Second, on the night they were allowing standing guests who were just there for the entertainment and drinks although these had not paid any extra, but were restricted to specific areas behind the red robed barriers. Although a lot of people ignored these and stood in front of the barriers therefor blocking our view. So through the night we were constantly asking staff to move the people so we could see the entertainment.
So first course was salad or spicy shrimp soup which was ok, but the second/main course took at least an hour after and was cold !! All 7 dishes, 6 x steak, mash, shrimp and asparagus and 1 x tuna steak on salad. So sent all dishes back then 10 mins returned back only to be cold AGAIN !! By this time we we're all too hungry to wait any longer and ate the steak part but left the rest, and one member of our Party left the tuna as that was cold through.
After the main we had spoken to the manager who expressed his apologies and reassured that he would give a discount come the final bill.
15 mins after the main (second time round) the dessert arrived x5, with 2 missing. By this time it had gone midnight and we weren't in the mood and gave up, after arriving at 9:15.
We received the bill with no discount so again expressed our concerns and problems we had through the night. They did knock off $300 but the bill for 7 still come too just over $1200, and one member of the party only had a salad as the main was cold and didn't receive the dessert.
Unfortunately I don't feel we were the only ones that night that suffered as all around us we watched others returning there food.
On the plus our waiter did try hard and was apologetic for the issues but overall we feel they had over seated there venue (got greedy) for what they could manage on the night, going for quantity but loosing the quality.
Obviously we aware that come New Year's Eve you expect to pay a little more for sit down meal especially being in Miami but were so disappointed with the overall experience, and left a bad impression for a couple of the party who were first timers to Miami.

We ate a great and rich salad, wonderful taste, interesting combination of unusual ingredients, as nuts, blueberries, cheese, cranberries, baby spinach and a home-made dressing. We recommend a visit, if you like during a great lunch observing beautiful people as staff of the restaurant or walking in front along the Ocean drive! Just enjoy!
