The food here is incredible. Great service, warm, friendly waiters & the food comes very quickly. Ambiance is very lovely. Presentation is beautiful, and everything tastes as good as it looks. I won't come back to Miami without making this a mandatory stop for dinner. Highly recommend.

Okay, so the night before Passover (Pesach) is very hectic whether you are working in a restaurant or whether you are preparing meals at home. On a whim, we decided to dine at Capri as we were vacationing in Miami Beach and wanted to treat ourselves before the holiday. I called at 6:45pm and asked if you needed a reservation. The manager stated yes and what time would we like to come. I asked if 7:15pm would be okay. He said "no problem". It was the four of us (My mother, my two teenage sons and myself). We got there at 7:15 and the manager whom I had spoken with stated that he didn't have a reservation listed in my name. I explained that I had just spoken with him 30 minutes prior and he had taken my name down. Keep in mind, that at that time the restaurant was practically empty. He explained that the table he had in mind for us was being currently occupied and the rest of the tables in the whole restaurant had reservations. He then directed his waiter to bring two small round tables together and place them in the center of the room. The waiter came by and very hastily took our orders. We wanted to start with appetizers first and have our dinner at leisure. He pointed out that the restaurant was going to get very crowded soon and suggested we also order our entrees at the same time. We felt very uncomfortable with being rushed like this. Just as we got settled at our tables (before the appetizers), four young ladies came in. By that time, the patrons who were at the table we were supposed to get, had already left. These young ladies were immediately seated at that table and were not even asked if they had a reservation. Our appetizers came and a few moments after that our entrees came, So much for dining leisurely. We all ordered pasta and it was really unremarkable. My son commented that I make a better alfredo sauce. Some of our pasta was stuck together and the meal was a big let down. It did get very crowded and so we were pretty much ignored 97% of the time. In fact, we had noticed that everyone was getting mini garlic rounds on their tables. We did not get any. It would have better if the Manager would have told us that it was going to be very busy and state that tables would not be available. Instead, we received inferior service and food that was not worth the price.

I have eaten at this restaurant several times. The food is consistently good. Sushi is nice, but I continue to notice that the sushi chef does not wear gloves. I complained to mgr and he said that they were busy at the time and gloves slow him down. Not a good excuse. Mgr claimed that gloves are not wore at other establishments. That is generally not the case except for one other Miami restaurant that I reviewed. All others have sushi chefs with gloves, and are very quick and professional with making the sushi. Prices are good and atmosphere is nice.
