Pleasantly surprised by the service and food. Great spot for people-watching. Chose this place because it was one of the few that didn't try to tempt us in with "two for ones". We've fallen for that trick a couple of times!!!! Well worth the price.

“Excellent for our last romantic night in Miami”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2012 via mobile

Best option in Ocean Drive, excellent food and service!! More quiet than others restaurants, it let you talk in a romantic mood with amazing food, portions are big and tasty, with the cook's author special touch.

“Fish.. South Beach.. People watching.. oh my”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

This restaurant is on Ocean Drive in South Beach Florida. The food is excellent . i have been there multiple times and have never had a bad meal there. The terrace is beautiful and the people watching is superb. Bring your dollars and dress for South Beach. If fish is what you are and you happen to be in South Beach give A Fish Called Avalon a try.. ps. Invite me for desert..

“The only proper restaurant on S Ocean Drive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2012

Dinner for two on the terrace
We booked ahead so were a little worried when we checked the place out earlier in the day as it looked closed (just the post-Sandy effect...everything up and running by dinner) and neighbouring food places looked dismal (a seminaked teenager flogging menus is always a bad sign and most Ocean Drive restaurants remind me of the seedy tourist restaurants in Venice). Still, off we went and we had a great time to be honest
the food was perfectly fine: not the most inspired food dishes but perfectly fine and certainly above-average
great location for people watching...better than at the movies or in reality shows
service was professional rather than warm but that was fine
no rush so plenty of time to enjoy the wine and desserts (which I found good rather than great)
not so great
sitting on the terrace means a lot of noise and even the restaurant music was blanked out by some rather unpleasant technopop from a nearby shop (but our choice to eat ot so canno blame AFCA)
expensive I thought - not in BLT league but still well over $200 with an average bottle of chardonnay

Good spot on Ocean Drive where they actually care about the food they serve with fun 'scenic' views. I would return for the experience to be honest.

That's really the only reason this place gets 4 stars, that creme brulee was bomb, very diff than any ive had before. the rest of the meal was good, not great.
