Coming from the airport, the cab driver recommended a couple of restaurants in SoBe and this was one of them.
They don't take reservations so if you want to walk right in - go early (5.30 or 6pm). Otherwise, they keep it moving so maybe 30 min to an hour wait. Don't worry about waiting though, because the bar here is as much an attraction as the restaurant.
Food first. It's tasty, fairly home style good old cookin' USA. The waiters are smartly attired and charming in that sort of country-club style. Customers are a mixed bag. Generally older and affluent but there are plenty of tourists and younger folks too. As Europeans, we shared a starter and then shared stone crab for main. Turns out, stone crabs are just like brown crabs in the UK ( bit bigger). They only eat the claws here but they taste good and come ready-cracked! It's a people watching place this so don't hurry off ( by the way, this isn't a place to dawdle over your food. Get goin' man! We don't want to keep folks waiting)
You must go through to the bar where the bartenders will reinforce every expectation you ever had of a lively US bar. Cocktails are great and the wines were good too. You can eat In the bar and another time, we might just go for drinks and snacks.
The food here is good - but it's everything else that is great (if you're a visitor).
