“Tourist Trap”

This place is a machine and you will feel like a cog in it. We had a party of 40 and were 10 minutes late and they were calling me saying they would cancel us. Upon arrival, there was no intro to the establishment or special room we were in, instead we were rushed to the back room, pushed to order wine and had to order immediately. Apparently all the sides were precooked as they were cold by the time the came to us. The stone crab is good, but expensive, and rather than give each their own plate, they put one plate on each table. Not sure we go our monies worth. They kept pouring wine, obviously trying to get the $ up for the tip, as most times the glas was at least half full. End of night as we are getting ready for check they filled everyone up. Most left with full glass on table. Go somewhere else if you want a nice evening.

“Awesome”

Great food. A little pricey, but all around a great meal! Make sure not to go too hungry. We waited 1.5 hours for a table on a Monday night. The wait was enjoyable, though. The bar was great, and the outside courtyards provided plenty of room to sit, drink and socialize while waiting.

“You gotta do it at least once”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2013

Old style atmosphere where knowing someone or greasing the maitre de will help beat the crowd. That being said, I still would suggest you go as early as you can and the experience will be better.

The jumbo claws were top of the line, great! No way can you complain about the quality of the main product.

Service was quick and efficient and the side dishes including the hash browns and spinach were really good as was the slaw. Fried oyster appetizers were top notch as well.

No doubt the place is pricey but you gotta do it at least once if you want to experience ole time Miami Beach

“If you want to throw money away......”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2013 via mobile

I ordered Joes to be shipped to our home for Valentines Day. We opened the box and found 16 ity bitty microscopic
Crab claws , shredded lettuce , a minuscule amount of Creamed Spinach and Manhattan Clam chowder.
Well we have dined at Joes in Miami , Chicago and Las Vegas and have been more than satisfied. Always expensive but
We have always left satisfied UNTIL NOW. The Joes delivery Fed Ex was a total disappointment.
The quality of the crab claws SUBSTANDARD . when I called after unpacking the boxes I got an indignant and haughty
response.
Well as someone that travels often and is no stranger to expensive meals this was truly A RIPOFF

“my palate and stomach did not agree with my wallet”

I think it wasn't worth the $50+ I spent for 3 Med, 2 Large and 1 Jumbo claws.
I wish there were some New Orleans/Cajun type of seafood restaurant in Miami, we would have been full for half the price.
Although they served me some good Brussels sprouts.
We went during lunchtime on a weekday so it wasn't that busy, however we had to wait and call our waiter to finally order something to eat.
Oh and menu is a la carte, so you order your main dish ($15-30$) then you order the side for $7-12
