“Authentic Homey Cuban Food - reasonable prices”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2013

In the middle of all the glitz and glamor of South Beach, this is a little, rough on the outside, delicious on the inside, jewel. 70s interior that's not fancy. The service is fast knowledgeable and they light up when you order the Cuban classics. Cuban sandwich is simple delicate with a lovely crusty bread. Stone soup is a slightly sweet and hearty stew with sweet potato, yucca, pork roast, and delicious broth. The food comes out very quickly and is nice and hot. This place was recommended by cuban servers, and cuban friends in Massachusetts. This is the place to eat, when you want the real thing. Prices are like you are not in a tourist resort.

“Good Cuban cuisine”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2013

Menu had lots of choice, restaurant was really busy, several people had to wait. Food was excellent quality and reasonably priced. If you are looking for somewhere with character this is your place.

We researched best Cuban food in South Beach and decided to go to Puerto Sagua. Best Cuban coffee and take the time to wait for the PAELLA ! Great food a d service and delish up Cuban food ! I have chicken steak and a Cuban and we also had the Paella ! And a few cups Cuban_espressoCafé Cubano (Cuban coffee, Cuban espresso, cafecito, Cuban pull, Cuban shot) is a type of espresso and it's much missed here in NY !

“Not what you expect, but a complete delight!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2013

We were expecting more of a trendy dining atmosphere and were a little surprised to find Puerto Sagua with more of a neighborhood coffee-shop like feel. However, don't let that stop you. The place was packed. And, the menu was one of the most extensive I have ever seen - filled with authentic Cuban dishes and more. I had the tilapia dish, sangria and shared a few dessert options. All delicious!

“Tourist trap”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2013

This place perhaps used to be a local eatery for Cuban workers - but now the tourists have found it... so the place was packed with nothing but tourists for lunch.
Serving efficient, so very little waiting time.
Food was simple, nothing special about it.
What amazed us most: many servants - but none with a smile! The old man that seated us was totally stonfaced, as had he done this job for one or two decades too much.
This is a tourist trap serving too ordinary food!
