“Cozy & Authentic Italian at Its Best”
Reviewed January 31, 2014

We ate at Spiga a year ago and liked it so much that it was the restaurant for which we made reservations on the first evening of our return to Miami Beach. Often, the second time you eat at a place that was memorable, it doesn't even come close to your first experience. Not so with Spiga. It was every bit as good the second time around. Warm cozy and homey atmosphere. Non-pretentious dark honey wood interior. Excellent caprese salad for starters. Main course of linguine a la vongole was just about the best I have had in any restaurant (and since that is my favorite pasta dish, I have had it too many times to count). Ricotta cheese cake for desert was excellent. No super-fancy ultra-creative dishes, just great Italian food cooked with love and panache. If I had to choose one Italian restaurant to return to night after night, Spiga would be it.

“Nice Italian Restaurant”
Reviewed January 30, 2014

Overall, this place was very good but not great. The $9 starter salads are boring and overpriced. But, the main dishes we had were very good. A few additional entrees would have been nice (such as veal parmesan, etc.). The marinara sauce was a little different -- not thick and rich -- but rather a bit thin and more pure tomato like. But, it was still very good.

“Art Deco Italiano”
Reviewed January 24, 2014

Just back from The beach, in the Art Deco district of Miami beach, this is an established Italian in the traditional style. Very friendly service, nice wine list, Classic Italian menu all executed really well. Outdoor patio area lets you watch Miami whilst enjoying delicious Italian food.

“Poor”
Reviewed January 22, 2014 via mobile

Won't eat here again. Terrible from the start. The house wines are marginal. The home made pasta is flat and the dinner is just ok. Absolutely nothing special.

“In keeping with the traditions of Italian dining”
Reviewed January 21, 2014

I am always disappointed when I read reviews by this who are ignorant to proper regional cuisines and the associate service. Spiga is on the mark with the fresh simple spot on preparations of good italian food, The veal itself is creamy and elegant, a treat at any table. Pastas are fresh and light…ricotta gnocchi was shear perfection. The wait staff is spot on as well. If you like The Olive Garden, please don't go to Spiga. Last note, prices were right for the quality of food and for South Beach reasonable.
