We ate at Spiga a year ago and liked it so much that it was the restaurant for which we made reservations on the first evening of our return to Miami Beach. Often, the second time you eat at a place that was memorable, it doesn't even come close to your first experience. Not so with Spiga. It was every bit as good the second time around. Warm cozy and homey atmosphere. Non-pretentious dark honey wood interior. Excellent caprese salad for starters. Main course of linguine a la vongole was just about the best I have had in any restaurant (and since that is my favorite pasta dish, I have had it too many times to count). Ricotta cheese cake for desert was excellent. No super-fancy ultra-creative dishes, just great Italian food cooked with love and panache. If I had to choose one Italian restaurant to return to night after night, Spiga would be it.
