This restaurant was recommended to me by a Haitian taxi driver. I checked reviews and decided to give it a go. I cannot recommend this place high enough, excellent Haiti cousine. Shrimps in creole sauce was delicious, sauteed chicked was good as well. Pumpkin soop was very tasty and in the end we had coffee and Haiti cake which was deliciooouuusss. The service was great, very friendly and attentive waitress which answered all our questions about how food was made. Lastly, the interior design is truly unique, it will make you feel you are on a different planet. Lots of great subjects for colourful holiday photos. :) Thank you Tap Tap and we'll come again.

The place was empty when we walked in for dinner, but it turned out to be great. They were out of my first choice entree, but second choice (goat stew) was tasty. My boyfriend had a great fish item. Would recommend a trip to Tao Tap!

Genuine Haitian food in a fun, funky atmosphere with good if somewhat leisurely paced service. The conch ceviche is very tasty with a good bit of spice. Yellow snapper poached in lime sauce and shrimp in cocoanut sauce were both fresh and very tasty.

My favorite dish in a week of good food in Miami Beach was Pwason Gwosel, poached whole yellofin snapper in light lime sauce - delectable! Also a glass of five star Barbancourt Rum, like a fine brandy. Each table painted with a Haitian scène -- one with Tap Tap, the bright red taxi van -- and paintings on the walls, one of women sorting coffee beans, another with local harvest, design and color everywhere. A front porch with tables, then a bar, and several home-sized rooms make the atmosphere domestic. And all kinds of Haitian specialties from stewed goat, Kalalou (okra with tomatoes), delicious taso kabrit (goat tidbits with créole dipping sauce) etc. International clientèle. Feels like visiting Haiti the way it should be.
