“Worth it!”
Reviewed December 9, 2012

This restaurant is a quaint haven in otherwise large and loud Miami Beach. I would recommend it for a romantic dinner but not much else. It's quite dark and intimate (which works well for couples, but not really the right environment for business or friends). You can sit outside or inside - outside is adorable, but inside is also quite nice (more formal). The bar area is fun, as you can grab a drink and socialize in a cute waiting room while your table is getting ready. The food is good. Not amazing, but certainly good. Remember, you're in Miami. Don't be so picky.

“Expensive and dark”
Reviewed November 28, 2012 via mobile

We visited Casa Tua on the basis of two personal recommendations. I'm not sure I would recommend it...the first word that comes to mind is pretentious. It certainly has a romantic look but at the expense of being able to see the menu or ones food; it's so dark the waiters walk round with torches! It may be brighter inside but when it's warm and dry it's nice to sit outside, notwithstanding the noise of passing traffic which thankfully can't be seen due the high hedges. It is a welcome relief from the noise of South Beach if you want to escape. We struggled a bit with the fancy menu and it's not as if we're not used to fancy restaurants in London. The food was certainly good but not exceptional and at these prices it damn well ought to be! The lobster risotto was good and contained plenty of lobster and I would recommend the apple flan. The service was very attentive, over attentive, sometimes one just wants to be left alone and I'm not sure why the waiter who cleared our plates had to say "sorry" every time he did so! With so much on offer in the South Beach area, I suspect it is only due to the uniqueness of Casa Tua that it maintains its popularity. Our bill came to nearly $200 including only one glass of wine and my wife did not have dessert; you pays your money, you makes your choice!

“Great food, big price tag”

The food was amazing but be prepared for a bit of sticker shock. It is downright overpriced. There are plenty of restaurants out there doing the same prep work and charging half...

“Best restaurant in Miami”
Reviewed November 23, 2012

The food is superb, the service excellent and the setting delightful. A hidden gem. I have eaten at a number of places in Miami including some rated much higher than this but none of them have come close to this fine dining experience.
