Description: The Forge is one of South Florida's most legendary steakhouses, dating back to 1969 on Miami Beach. The award-winning restaurant is not your grandfather's steakhouse - although it once was. With its modern décor, ambiance and philosophy, The Forge has undergone a total makeover, the overall design and décor was executed by Francois Frossard. Walls of hand-carved blonde wood and antique mirrors, lilac and white crystal chandeliers, a wall of bubbles - are perfectly interspersed with the historical pieces that adorn the space. Every diner's seat is "the best in the house." The open floor plan of the 6,000-square-foot space allows guests to see and be seen. Executive Chef Julia Doyne presents a 65-item menu along with a delicious Dessert Menu. Finally, there's a labyrinth-like Wine Cellar with eight-rooms devoted to the rarest vintages in the world, and even a secret, lux private dining room, which seats up to 25 guests. The bar offers guest 64 Enomatic's wines by the ounce.

Yes it's a bit overpriced, and yes the decor is "over the top". But it's The Forge, and it's a part of Miami Beach history! The food is very good, and they have an excellent selection of wines by the glass. I've always found the servers to be friendly and attentive. The main dining room does get a bit noisy, so ask to be seated in "the library", which is quieter and more intimate.

I had been taking my Wife to the Forge for special occassions since the 70's. This Used to be the Best restaurant in South Florida. We went after they had remodeled, we were not impressed. They used to have the best French Onion Soup anywhere and a chocolate dessert the "Blacksmith's Pie" which was unbelievable. After the remodel they "changed chef's" and of course the menu. Those two items are not even on the new menu, menu is totally new. Quality of the food is not great anymore and the menu leaves a lot to be desired. Will not return, have found other places where the prices are better and so is the food for special occassions. What a shame, this was not too long ago the best you could find anywhere.

Prime 112 is the better steakhouse with a friendlier staff experience when in South Beach hands down.

This place was so amazing. My fiance and I went on a whim with no reservation around 7pm, they seated us with no problem and a warm smile! I was completely in awe of the decor. It is beautiful! The food was delicious! Our waiter was so friendly and asked if we were there for a special occasion. We told him we were celebrating being engaged for one year. After dinner he brought us a dessert with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate! So sweet. Then he took us around the restaurant and showed us the different rooms and little alcoves. The library room was by far my favorite and the outdoor patio area. He even took our picture for us! I wish I remembered his name. But on our way out we did tell the hostess and dining room manager that he was wonderful. We'd definitely come back again, what a lovely and romantic evening!
